@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Quote from: GoldenWheels on 05/05/2018, 10:08 AMMan, I got up to about 16 mil last night and it felt like it took an hour. Got a couple extra balls and that kept me going for a while. But I gotta say...I was getting bored by the end. This may be the best score I can generate.
This is the biggest reason I'm not playing it much. I play on "fast"; I can't imagine playing on "slow". Overall, I enjoy the game, but it just feels tedious after 20-30 minutes.

Anyone got some tips on how to do better or get more points? Do I just need to git gud?

Ya...all of the new ones look pretty rough.

Well I played it today for a few minutes. My score was something like 1.8 million. I'll try more, later this week. Is one of the boards easier than the other?

I expect everyone who voted for this game to achieve better scores than me.

Edit: I played some this morning and realize now that the option isn't two boards but two music tracks....how bow dah?
#7
Kinda strange that the game that got the most votes is also the one that probably has been played the most. Oh well, I guess people don't want to try new things.

Yeah, I'm surprised by that too, had no idea so many were made.

I'm not terribly impressed with the Adol one but that's cool they have some.

Anyway, I'd ask esteban where he purchased his. It never occurred to me to ask and maybe I even wondered if he had it made himself or something.

Oh, congrats on the new job, crazydean, hope it works out!
From what little info I found online, they were from a promo bitd. There are at least three variations that I've seen pictures of.

So I can't see the poll in Tapatalk. What was the result?

So I landed my first office job about a month ago and they have free coffee! I've never had much use for a coffee mug in the past because I needed to move around.

Anyway, I've always wanted one of those sweet, black turbografx mugs, and I was wondering if anyone here was interested in parting with one of theirs. I don't care which game is featured on it.

Also, in case I don't actually find one, what are some suggestions for other game-related mugs?

My daughter loves church because she has somehow associated it with the donuts afterwards.
Let me be the first atheist to admit that I would go to church if I was guaranteed donuts and coffee.

Amen.
The churches I went to as a kid always had free coffee and sometimes donuts!

I have been to a few that actually sell coffee...that's a little too close to business in a house of worship to me. I'm not personally offended, but it's quite hypocritical.

Wait, are you talking about SMD caps? If so, then you are definitely going to ruin a pad. I thought we were talking about radial.

If a component is soldered to a pad, always heat the solder. If it has legs, feel free to snip away.

Personally, I prefer it because you don't have de-solder both legs of the cap simultaneously. Also, you're not adding any heat into a possibly damaged cap.

The only downside I see is if you get sloppy and cut into the cap, causing electrolytic fluid to spill out. If you don't have enough room to get snips between the board and the cap, and try to cut it anyway, that could cause a rupture in your cap.
#25
As opposed to what? De-soldering?

Both games are great, but if they get over $50, then ppl should just get a TED...I say the same for Cadash.
Everyone should get a TED regardless. If you collect games for value, it's worth it so you can play them without damaging originals. If you want to play games and not collect, it's cheaper than buying originals. If you only want to buy and play, at least with the the TED, you get a chance to try before you buy.
INSERTION MARKS!?!?!?!?!?
I don't see a reason to buy a game like Magical Chaste, but if I did, I sure as hell wouldn't play it.

What about 2 games a month? Perhaps a more common game or shooter and then a more random second game. People could play one or both.. not sure lol  :-"
Actually, I think this is a great idea. Start Game of the Month and have two. That circumvents the bored feeling that some older players have but also maintains interested with possibly a less played game.

Quote from: NightWolve on 03/30/2018, 09:01 PMNo, what was absurd was the ~2 week DildoPhile.com spam campaign, then spreading malicious smears I intentionally put a virus in TurboRip or playing other "what-aboutism?" games such as with XXXSEED Games!

Sometimes you need to know when to back off, when you're permanently burning bridges, crossing point-of-no-return lines, but Nulltard/bullity evidently didn't care and proceeded further!

I don't care if you still call him friend, he's a disgusting, petty, lying manchild who was waking up 7:30 am to run to my chatbox to spam his shitty forum, failed forum thief that he is, possibly while his kids were watching in the car if using his smartphone or while making them breakfast, who knows! A grown 40-something man yet you wouldn't know the difference from a High-Schooler!

He's a drive-by spammer for a shitty failed PCE forum that has Ron Jeremy as its mascot! Pathetic on EVERY LEVEL! Contrast that to Tatsujin or Zach Spears and their competing PCE Facebook groups, they don't come here spamming it around in harassing fashion to lure members over out of some level of respect unlike the shameless spambot automaton who thinks it's "funny!"

2 weeks was just right, equal to the time they were unable to STFU about their shithole PCE forum and think they can keep thumbing their nose at me cause I'm not Aaron! I'm not gonna have kids get in my way next time I can work on the chat software...
I certainly appreciate the work you did to get us a chat box again. I don't want to take away from that.

However, I don't think that the punishment fits the crime. Nul is still a good dude.

Again, thank you for getting the chat box back up.

I was a new member last time we did one of these, and it was great...for a little while.

The problem seemed to be that either GOTW would lose momentum because someone suggested a game that caught few people's interest like Klax. Or, it was a game that may of us had already played or beaten.

Having said that, I'm up for it. Maybe we should go for PCE games though, since there are so few TG games that we haven't all played to death or might find interesting.
#39
So, I'd like to get a few high quality game books. I'm mostly looking for something with game reviews, pictures, etc like Pat Contri's Ultimate Nintendo: Guide to the NES Library.

Quote from: nopepper on 03/28/2018, 10:29 PMIn any case, boycotting a show, just because they don't share your same opinions seems very obtuse to me. IMO Game Sack is just fun, and not meant as a definitive source for anything. It's just a couple of relatable nerds talking about games...no need to take it more serious than that.
If I boycotted every show that presented a difference of opinion, I suppose you could call me obtuse.  But this is a little different.  I stopped watching one show because of its hosts' repeatedly ignorant views.  It's not like I'm going to run out of the room the next time I see somebody watching Game Sack.  It's just that there are better sources for retro gaming YouTube channels out there.
Agreed. That Metal Jesus Rocks is much more informative than Game Sack.

Quote from: Pfloydguy2 on 03/27/2018, 03:16 PMYup, totally serious.  There's plenty of good stuff on both systems, and the Lynx especially had a great library.  The Lynx has easily the best ratio of great games to shit game of any console I've played.  It has dozens of fantastic arcade ports and some nice exclusives.  There are a handful of lousy games for it, but by and large it's a great handheld, was way ahead of its time, and deserved to succeed much better than it did.
Lol, somebody had a Lynx growing up.

It's funny to see how much nostalgia affects someone's perspective. If you hold a NES vs 7800 poll on Atari Age, the 7800 wins hands down, but go literally anywhere else and post that same poll. I guarantee the 7800 loses every single time. For someone who isn't a fan of either, it's easy to see which console was superior, but those nostalgia glasses are awful rosy.

Is there a story behind USB? It's like they were designing the tech behind it and used the rectangle as a placeholder. Then got rushed and forgot to make something better.

I bought a Gameboy Advance SP and it has two proprietary connectors. It just doesn't make sense for USB to be so poorly designed.

Don't be "scared". It's just an old toy. If you want to not risk blowing your money on a corroded PCB just buy a white Duo instead.
I think the "scared" part is in reference to buying a re-capped Duo off eBay. But the entire problem can be circumvented by buying on here.
