Man, I got up to about 16 mil last night and it felt like it took an hour. Got a couple extra balls and that kept me going for a while. But I gotta say...I was getting bored by the end. This may be the best score I can generate.

This is the biggest reason I'm not playing it much. I play on "fast"; I can't imagine playing on "slow". Overall, I enjoy the game, but it just feels tedious after 20-30 minutes.

So I landed my first office job about a month ago and they have free coffee! I've never had much use for a coffee mug in the past because I needed to move around.

Anyway, I've always wanted one of those sweet, black turbografx mugs, and I was wondering if anyone here was interested in parting with one of theirs. I don't care which game is featured on it.

Also, in case I don't actually find one, what are some suggestions for other game-related mugs?

Personally, I prefer it because you don't have de-solder both legs of the cap simultaneously. Also, you're not adding any heat into a possibly damaged cap.

The only downside I see is if you get sloppy and cut into the cap, causing electrolytic fluid to spill out. If you don't have enough room to get snips between the board and the cap, and try to cut it anyway, that could cause a rupture in your cap.

I just coughed it up to being good games...at least I could sell my US version for at least what I could buy the PCE counterparts for. Both games are great, but if they get over $50, then ppl should just get a TED...I say the same for Cadash.

Everyone should get a TED regardless. If you collect games for value, it's worth it so you can play them without damaging originals. If you want to play games and not collect, it's cheaper than buying originals. If you only want to buy and play, at least with the the TED, you get a chance to try before you buy.

Actually, I think this is a great idea. Start Game of the Month and have two. That circumvents the bored feeling that some older players have but also maintains interested with possibly a less played game.

I was a new member last time we did one of these, and it was great...for a little while.

The problem seemed to be that either GOTW would lose momentum because someone suggested a game that caught few people's interest like Klax. Or, it was a game that may of us had already played or beaten.

Having said that, I'm up for it. Maybe we should go for PCE games though, since there are so few TG games that we haven't all played to death or might find interesting.

Yup, totally serious.  There's plenty of good stuff on both systems, and the Lynx especially had a great library.  The Lynx has easily the best ratio of great games to shit game of any console I've played.  It has dozens of fantastic arcade ports and some nice exclusives.  There are a handful of lousy games for it, but by and large it's a great handheld, was way ahead of its time, and deserved to succeed much better than it did.

It's funny to see how much nostalgia affects someone's perspective. If you hold a NES vs 7800 poll on Atari Age, the 7800 wins hands down, but go literally anywhere else and post that same poll. I guarantee the 7800 loses every single time. For someone who isn't a fan of either, it's easy to see which console was superior, but those nostalgia glasses are awful rosy.

Thanks for the advice. Originally I was looking for an untouched duo because you dont know who touched the ones you buy on ebay. The thought scares me. I would only want someone experienced capping it. Most of the people on it are just trying to make a quick buck.

Don't be "scared". It's just an old toy. If you want to not risk blowing your money on a corroded PCB just buy a white Duo instead.
