Ahh, Gunbuster. Love it, but I only have the VHS tapes. Is it available on blu ray? Currently watching the second lot of the Patlabor OAV series on BD that I had to import from the States because it was only available on DVD in the UK. Apparently the first series didn't sell well enough here to justify releasing it on blu ray. A pity, I love Patlabor.
I have also been watching Gurren Lagann which is excellent! I have the Robotech box set to watch next, and the recently released Nadia: Secret of Blue Water on BD after that.

Got Faussete Amour yesterday. Will play later on this evening!

How about those cable lengths friend Wilykat?
#6
Thanks, I appreciate it.

Is the cable longer on the Avenue pad? I have the standard pad that came with my console and the cable is ridiculously short.

Quote from: VenomMacbeth on 06/25/2015, 12:15 PMI ordered Gate of Thunder and Shubibinman 3 with my ebay coupon.  I probably payed too much for gate & I wanted to get more games, but I chose quality over quantity.
I got Gate of Thunder today too! Can't wait to play it.

Finally got my System Card 3.0. Amazingly came from Spain without a single stamp or mark on the envelope!

Gotcha. Lucky I didn't buy it after harbouring fond memories of the Atari ST version I had as a kid!

Thanks all for the detailed responses and linkage. And I'm going to have to ask - what's the Turrican thing about?  :-k

Cool, thanks. Guess I'll scour eBay and see if I can bag one on there.

So far only played Twinbee. Unless Rabio Lepus counts? Just been trying to get past the first level. Damn this game is hard!

It's for an NTSC-J system, thanks.

Just found out the hard way that I need a system card to play my newly acquired Macross game. I'm in the U.K.

Thanks
Chris

Ahh. Thanks for the reply. I don't actually have any system card...! Best get looking.

Hi folks, really daft question - try not to laugh! I have a PC Engine & CD-ROM2 briefcase system. I just got Macross 2036 and tried to play it. I get a white screen and just an audio track of two characters talking. The CD moves to track two and...well that's it. Am I missing something?

Not got the room for a CRT and can't stretch to a PVM/BVM so I invested in one of those "SLG-in-a-Box" gadgets from Arcadeforge. Looks good, can't wait to try it out!

You can get Hucard only for £119, cheapest CIB is £215! Crazy money.

Hammering through Diablo 3 at the moment, very nearly completed it. Then I can break out my newly purchased Saturn and enjoy something more retro!

Thanks one and all. I have read all your responses and decided to check out a few auctions and see if it's worth my while signing up and bidding. If it means there's a chance I can get Coryoon for less than the £200+ on eBay I will be happy!
#22
Thanks for the super detailed replies all! I'll read through it properly when I get home from work.

Apologies in advance if this has been covered before. I notice a lot of people buy stuff from yahoo.JP auctions. How do you go about signing up and deliveries not living in Japan? I feel like I'm missing out a bit on some good stuff being limited to eBay!

PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / Re: Intro

Thanks for the tips, Gotzendiener is another game that piqued my interest. I have kind of ignoring anything vaguely RPG-esque due to the language barrier but if there's a patch...
I'm just (impatiently!!) waiting for my goodies to arrive. PC Engine has allegedly been delayed by a postal strike in Germany so my planned weekend of fun has taken a knock. the only thing to arrive so far is Twinbee. I guess the anticipation is part of the game though and it will give me more time to research more games before it arrives.

Funny you should mention Blue Blink, I was watching a play through on YouTube the other day. Think I'll add it to the list.

Just snagged a copy of Sexy Parodius for the Saturn. Been a damaging last seven days for my bank account!

Thanks folks. I realised the second after I hit the "submit" button that I had posted in the wrong forum - oops! At least it got me checking out the PC-FX and figuring out how I can justify adding one to the collection!
Cheers for the replies, I'll look around and see about finding some top tens and the like.

Hi all, I'm Chris in the U.K. Just joined the forum after overpaying horribly for a PC Engine with IFU-30. I guess I got carried away with bidding as I have been chasing a decent PCE setup for a while. The seller has stated that it has been overhauled with new capacitors and middle gear/cog.
This is my very first experience of the PCE having always stuck to SNES and MD stuff. I have been checking out people's recommendations for games to purchase but was shocked at how expensive some of the "must-have" games are! I ended up bagging Rabio Lepus, Twinbee and Macross 2036 for a reasonable price.
Are there any other decent, fairly common (and therefore fairly cheap!) games I should be adding to my collection?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
