Hi all,

I recently started collecting for the PC Engine and now I'm here to learn more about the systems and games. The first time I laid hands on a TurboGrafx-16 was in '92 where I played Bonk's Adventure for all of 5 minutes. 19 agonizingly long years went by without any PCE goodness until I finally got a system of my own a few months ago. I picked up a TG16 and 5 games (Alien Crush, J.J. & Jeff, Legendary Axe, Legendary Axe II, and Vigilante) and everything was in very good shape. Prior to this, the only thing I owned was a 10-minute TG16 promotional video on VHS (which is still in mint condition).

I love how many iterations and form factors there are of the PC Engine and it's going to be so much fun growing my collection. With that said, I have perhaps the sexiest combo on its way from Japan: a CoreGrafx II & Super CD-ROM2 . It should arrive next week. Until then I'll while away the time reading through the forum and watching PCE-related videos on YouTube (futurematt5, if you read this, your videos are superb).

Thanks for reading and I look forward to being an active member.

Welcome aboard! Be warned, PCE collecting is very addicting. I started collecting in September as well and I already have well over 100 games, and nearly a dozen systems...

^gotdamn. Blown my collection out of the water. You live in Japan right?

Bernie

Welcome to the site man.  Yeah, be warned...Pcengine collecting/gaming IS VERY addictive.  I put it in the same category as tattoos for someone like me, I just cannot stop getting more.....  :)

Anyway, enjoy your new system and games.  Also, check here before Ebay on prices and stuff.  A lot of peole here sell games and repair/sell hardware.

Yeah, I do. I knew once the PCE floodgates opened I would go crazy, and this is in addition to my regular Sega collecting. Gotta say I love the system, and I'm trying to snap up as many deals as I can while I'm still out here. Planning to sell a good amount of the hardware when I get back to the US though, hopefully to some forum members!

Yes, Chris Bucci's Turbo Views show is great. I discovered there was a sizable gaming community on YT a few years ago and it was channels like his that got me interested in playing and collecting games again.

Damn you. Watching Luke Morse's videos as he peruses the aisles of Hard Off and points out one PC Engine, white Saturn or Super Famicom after another drives me crazy already. I can barely fathom what it's like to actually be there and score deals on those systems.

Welcome to the forums, Yes I have to agree I grew my collection 10 fold in a few short months and get yelled at a lot by the wife lol. But its a great place to BS and kill time.
