Localization Legend "Supper the Subtitler" has "joined the club" in being targeted for CD-pressings by bootleg master Tobias/PCEWorks! His projects like Private Eyedol, Galaxy Fräulein Yuna 1 & 2, etc. are now being sold on Chinese factory-pressed CDROMs...

I was inspired by this thread to create a way to recommend mobile games to the community.

Here's a list of my favorites:

Ascension - Based on the popular deck-building card game. Awesome adaptation
Jetpack Joyride - Scrolling game. Watch out for obstacles!
Plants vs. Zombies - Awesome on any platform.
Joe Danger - Based on the PSN/XBLA motorcycle/stunt franchise. Nothing short of fantastic.
Pinball Arcade - Amazing pinball simulator. A handful of free boards to try.
Pac-Man Battle Royale - Free vs Pac-Man game. Best on iPad
Chu Chu Rocket - Based on the Dreamcast classic. Great port.
Game Dev Story - Run-your-own-game-company sim. Super fun.
Hypership Out of Control - Originally an Xbox Indie game. Scrolling vert-shmup. Great concept and execution!
Run Roo Run - Scrolling "runner" game. Really well done.
Super World Adventures - Closest you'll ever get to Mario on iOS
World of Goo - Puzzle/Strategy/Architecture?
Great Little War Game - Think "Advance Wars". Really great.
Kami Retro - Fun platform/puzzle game with great design.
iBomber Defense - Strategy/Defense game.

Feel free to add your own!

I'm not much of a mobile gamer, but I do like Tic Tac Toe by Optime Software a lot. It does the job very well for a tic tac toe game, with difficulty settings, name input, 2 player mode, and choice of x first, o first, or switch every turn.

Just downloaded that the other day based on a friend's recommendation. Still trying to get the hang of it. It's a great concept, though!

It's a really well done game, fast and casual enough to play it in short burst. With enough strategy to get you hooked on the monster collecting and leveling. Apparently it blew up in Asia when it was first release, one can even get the Famitsu mascot as a ally in the Asian version.

I definitely second Pinball Arcade.  I wrote a review of it back when it first came out, if anyone cares to read it:

I also second Jetpack Joyride.  Here are some more:

Bike Race - reminiscent of Excite Bike, but with tilt controls.
Retro Pinball - a port of the old DOS game "Epic Pinball", if anyone used to play that.  Only a few of the tables, though.
Final Freeway - a racing game very similar to OutRun.
Canabalt - awesome, but tough to explain.
Beneath a Steel Sky - port of the old DOS adventure game.
Doodle Jump
Temple Run

Trying Pinball Arcade thanks a bunch!!

I enjoy playing around with these games:
Another World (Out of this World)
Pac Chomp
Zenonia 4 (1,2,3,and 5 also available)

on my Kindle Fire HD (Bastardized Android Tablet)  I only have a handful of games you mentioned above available to me, but I'm still enjoying them regardless.  :)
Jossshhhhh...Legendary TurboTrollX-16: He revenge-bans PCE Developers/Ys IV Localizers from PCE Facebook groups and destroyed 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Josh and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner (extortion/blackmail!), never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

Agrees, Chu chu rocket is awesome on ios

Puzzles and Dragons is good too, and free... But I think I may be playing it too much.

geise

Raiden Legends.  Actually works quite well with onscreen controls.

Arkhan Asylum

This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

Just downloaded "Great Little War Game" (free version) since I was a fan of Military Madness and Advance Wars. I like it a lot and will probably upgrade to the pay version. Thanks for the recommendation!

-Wizorb is an interesting one with Paul Robertson pixel art - breakout clone + rpg elements. Control scheme can drive you insane sometimes
-Manos: The Hands of Fate is a platform throwback based on the MST3K favorite - not tremendously deep but fun
-Flow is a stupidly simple puzzle game that extremely addictive - it gets fun when the grid size increases and the difficulty ramps up
