@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Yes, another underrated game topic, but this one is justified. Nobody seems to like this one much.

Tonma has always been a favorite of mine. I love it's fast gameplay, and how it plays like a shmup (like Ninja Spirit). The music is literally the best thing ever, and the art style is beautiful.

And dat death animation.  8)

Don't have the money to get an actual copy though.  ](*,)

lol, I like it. but it could have been done better aka bit more close to the arcade original. but I am happy with what I got.

Comrade, I have always said Tonma was a poor man's Karnov. This is a compliment, since Karnov is a rough diamond that never got the love it deserved.

Karnov is far more creative (the item/weapons system is implemented well and CLOSELY interwoven with stage design and progression, IMHO), but if you strip that out, you end up with Hero Tonma.

I' m too lazy to rehash my own garbage, so I may link to an old post.

Tonma is a solid game. The gameplay reminds me of Ghouls N Ghosts, but nowhere near as hard. The weapons in the game are cool and music fits the game well.

MrFlutterPie

I find the game to be average.  It's not bad but it's not really great either.

Every time I turn the game on, I can't turn it off until I beat it.

...however, I don't often get the urge to turn it on.

What does that mean?  No one knows.

I agree.  I think it could've been closer to the arcade, including the parallax as far as I can tell.  I love the music, & have always loved that particular sound engine that was used for this, Ninja Spirit, Mr. Heli, & Image Fight!

I wouldn't recommend Legend of Hero Tonma, you must regret it later. You'd better go back here. Can you surely suggest this game? Your crappy recommendations will go down in history...
  ... as a splendid legend.

Port wise, Tonma can now duck, and the final boss has a new, epic music track.

Ducking is only useful for the final boss though.

I kinda wish there was a hard mode/optional 2nd loop though.
