I've been using this forum to fix up my TurboDuo which so far is working great.  I replaced the capacitors and laser so things are booting up proper and the sound is working well.

The only thing is that there is a squeaking noise emanating from the cd drive when it is spining.  Sometimes it seems to stop but it happens even when I take the case off so I don't think it's coming from anywhere other than the motor that is spinning the disc which I've already lubricated.

Is this a common issue?  Should I replace the motor or is there something else I can lubricate?  So far it hasn't effected gameplay but it has me worried

Much appreciated!

This is normal depending on your lens and what track on what CD the drive is being read. It is the lens making the noise. If it bothers you you can go ahead and lower the lens gain a little using the white pot adjustment on the lens. However, if it is reading fine I'd leave it alone.

That was totally it.  You nailed it.  It's running like a dream now!

I shall celebrate by purchasing Rondo of Blood!
