12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

Cool to see more related content, history, etc. in here. I kinda thought this thread would bomb here when I made it. Figured it'd get buried pretty quick. ;)

Note: I'll also add that I liked Mystic Quest, forgot about that beginners RPG that Square did.

Just reminded me of the retro trailer SE did a few months ago for Lightning Returns...

I have yet to play a final fantasy game through to the end.  I started FF III with my son a little while back, but it didn't really grip us the way other RPGs on the SNES did, such as Chrono Trigger and Earthbound.  Growing up, I got an NES very late, which is OK, because I got to play what I feel are underappreciated games in Phantasy Star and Miracle Warriors on the master system :)

Yea that was pretty cool!

They also did one for FFXIV's  Titan "Extreme" fight with the Super Nintendo 16-bit visuals.

I really do like Final Fantasy III aka Final Fantasy VI.  I didn't like it at first but, after a while when the party builds up with more characters and the story starts moving I was gripped.  Final Fantasy VI along with the ending of Ys book I & II are the only games that moved me to tears...  FF7 was too cliched.. and I just didn't feel anything after Aerith's .....

But I am seriously liking FFXIII-2 the story is a little confusing with the time traveling but I just can't get enough of the music... and it does drag somewhere in the middle but I am close to completing it and loving the story and characters now..

Not really, the series lost its luster right after Final Fantasy X.  Although, FF X was still good, it was not great like the earlier titles FF I - VI, especially.  If you guys really want to play something in the same caliber of the earlier Final Fantasy, then play Mistwalker games, such as Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey for the Xbox 360 and The Last Story for the Wii.

If you are a FF fan, you already know that the original producer, Hironobu Sakaguchi, left Square a long time ago to open up his own studio, Mistwalker.  Sakaguchi has created some of the best JRPGs this past generation.  You really have to try out the above titles if you haven't already done so.
