SD.2.CD device coming for NEC hardware ?

The maker is wrapping up a model for Dreamcast and that's what he's selling right now on the website. However, a friend told me he's working on a Saturn and PC Engine/TG-16 version, but I don't see anything about that on the actual site though, so that info must've come from a forum or something. I figured it was rumor cause I find it hard to believe, but wondering if anyone else can confirm this ??

Seems a shame something like the 3DO already got a mod device like this first, though it was pretty expensive. Anyway, I'd be pretty interested in one if this rumor is true.

I hope something like that comes out eventually, as it's just a matter of time before your drive dies and replacement drives aren't getting any easier to find.  Plus eliminating load times would be nice, especially for some of those rpgs that constantly reload stuff.

I've already put this new toy to good use – its considerably bigger internal SRAM allows for bigger logic analyzer buffer. I could probably already make a prototype PCE drive replacement that would be good enough to run a few games. And that's exactly what I want to try next.

Alright, so it is true. What a n00b, I searched for "PC Engine," "NEC," "Turbo," etc. and found nothing. ;) Wouldn't you know, "PCE" would've sufficed! My friend gave me the link and said it was true, but I was just doubtful.

So I imagine that device could be hooked up to the internal socket that usually connects to the CD-ROM drive laser unit, or am I wrong? Such a thing would be nice, and even nicer if it supports both the separate CD/SCD units as well as the Duo consoles.

I've got both Mnemo's 3DO device and Deunan's Dreamcast device.  They both work excellently.  I will give the ease-of-use nod to Mnemo's device because he programmed a menu as well as chose to use USB instead of SD cards, but that's not meant to take away from Deunan's work.

I suppose the best I can say is:  If either of these guys come out with any new product (and Deunan seems most likely to do it, he's actively talking about it whereas Mnemo just occasionally goes "SURPRISE BITCHES!" and pops up with a new one), I will buy it.  PCE/TGCD, SCD, Saturn, CDi, I don't care.

Was that a mutual friend by any chance?  I was Just talking to a friend about this the other day.  I'm looking forward to it but I bet he does a round of Saturn sales before he gets to the PCE.

what i would like to see (and can be done) is a board the plugs in to the PCE expansion port and emulates the IFU, CD and SYS card
arcade card could be done as well
