They are gonna keep this up, stomping their feet and pissing and moaning because they didn't get their way...that is until they setup some statute of limitations on dumb-ass lawsuit by fuckwits.

this needed to get passed, and the telecoms need to comply with it

I had Qwest (century Link) in AZ for about a year and it is awful. Fuck that company.

This is one major area where I have not actively sought out expert opinions. What is the general feeling for what's going to happen? Am I being too optimistic to think that these ISPs will lose?

I'm generally against heavy regulation, but ya gotta do something to keep a level playing field; and if I pay for a ___ megabit connection, I want that speed no matter who I'm connecting to.

the telecoms have been selling internes service as a utility for years
its dishonest to then treat it like a proprietary product instead
as far as regulation i agree that less is more, but the issue was the dishonest practices of the service providers (when being honest would have cost them customers)

I'd have to search for the article again, but Verizon received tax dollars as a "common carrier" to build out its network but then didn't want to get regulated like a common carrier. Pretty disgusting really. I'm against heavy handed regulation too, but the regulations are already in favor the Telco's/Cable companies and something needed to be done.
