12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

Does the tg-cd dock have some sort of fuse?

Well I finally got around to troubleshooting the broken tg-cd i bought.

Here's my problem: The tg-cd powers on just fine alone, and so does the tg-16, but in the dock i get nothing, no power whatsoever for either the tg-cd or tg-16. I am using a 12v 1.5 amp dc adapter (yes the polarity is correct negative tip). All I can figure is either the power regs are shot, or there is some sort of fuse inside, before I tear it apart and start to diagnose the problem, I figured I would ask and see if anyone here knew what the problem might be. Thanks

This may seem really simple, but I have to ask...

Did you turn BOTH of the locking screws?  There is one underneath that needs to be engaged as well as one on the side by the CD player, otherwise you get nothing.

As for internally, I believe there might be a fuse inside, but don't quote me on that.  I have had it apart and there is a lot of crap stuffed into the section underneath the CD player.

Yes I have locked both locks, unless I am not understanding how they work. From looking on the inside the only the the lock for the tg-16 does is prevent the dock from switching on when not locked, it's entirely plastic with a spring that touches nothing. When you lock it a plastic nub raises to "lock" the tg-16 in place. As for the tg-cd lock I can lock it but i can't tell exactly what it does to affect the flow of power yet as the thing is a pain to disassemble completely.

Yes, it is a huge pain.  Also not too fun to reassemble.

Do you have a multimeter by chance? Maybe the internal power supply is busted.
