12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

I have owned Spriggan for a few months now , but with all the games sliding into my mail box(one or two every week), I haven't had a chance to sit down and really get into it, until last night.

I played through the entire game with no cheat codes whatsoever until the very end. The very last stage that consists of only a huge ship, that gives you very little room to maneuver, and the final battle with the head honcho himself almost gave me a stroke. ](*,) I fought that damn ship for at least 45 minutes using at least 30 continues. I finally gave in and looked on the internet for any cheat codes available to get me through this. I found one that adds ten lives, and with that I made it through and cleared the game.

But, I felt very empty inside for two reasons. One being that I cheated. And two, the final ship seems unbalanced in its difficulty. The whole game was an awesome experience, perfectly balanced. Tough as nails, but not frustrating, until that final fight.

Has anyone here cleared the game without cheating? Maybe I not as skilled at shooters as I thought, or maybe I am not the only one who threw his controller into the TV.

J/K about the TV.

i don't know, but i felt that spriggan is one of the easier shooties on the system and it's quite easy to master it with a nice 1cc :-k

I guess I am more of an action/rpg and platformer kind of guy. But, back in the day I was pretty good at games like Life Force. Maybe my hand eye coordination isn't as good as it once was. But, there still was parts in Spriggan that were very intense(besides the final battle), like the space station level and the fortress with all the previous mechs strewn out on the floor dead. I spent quite a few continues on the latter level, but whisked through the former because I finally fell into my zone.

But, I can see where your coming from because I just bought Super Star Soldier(off press_run) and can't get past the third stage. In spriggan, I didn't have a real hard time until the fortress stage.

Agree with Tats here- Spriggan is indeed one of the easier verts on the system- actually a great vert shooter for beginners- a masterpiece nonetheless...  :)

Mathius a great vert shooter for you if you're only just getting into them is Override (hucard)...  It's not that difficult- and yet it's FORKING GREAT and intense and it'll sharpen you up for the harder verts...  It also has all the hallmarks of a great shooter- instant playability, music that gets you in the mood, bossrush, multiple upgradeable weapons, giant shot, speed selection etc.

I can't remember if I ever got good enough at Spiriggan to do a 1cc, but yeah, I didn't think it was too bad to finish the game.

R-Type, on the other hand...  ](*,)

I just put Override on my buy list. Thanks Sinistron :D BTW-This is so embarassing, but you guys are going to have to school me on what 1cc means

I'm quite surprised you fond it so hard. Spriggan is very easy, as far as I can remembre and I remember being disappointed when I first cleared as I thougth it was too easy.

Like I said above, I really didn't have a hard time until the fortress level, and then the final boss seemed unbalanced in its difficulty IMHO. But, I have been away from shooters for years, until last Feb. when I got my first Turbo, so I was really out of practice :)
