Faussete amour - Worth the price?

Hey Gang,

What are peoples opinion on Faussete amour? Do you think it is worth the asking price, or just expensive due to rarity?

It's always been pricey due to rarity. It's a very fun and underrated Makaimura style game which makes much better use of a grappling mechanic than the Bionic Commandos do. I wouldn't recommend buying it (or any pricey game) until you have most other worthwhile games that go for less. But it's a great game that everyone should play one way or another.

I thought the NES bionic arm was the best implementation...help me see things your way 

I haven't played Faissettee Amoureee in years (traded it, sadly), but it seemed more cumbersome than Bionic Commando (NES).

I briefly played Bionic Commando (arcade), but it wasn't captivating enough at the time.

I don't think I've played any other games in the series (ie Gameboy?)

I haven't played Fausette Amour in a while, so I can't get into the extreme details, but I remember the impact it had the first time I played through just short of the end and how the grappling stacked up when I compared it and the Bionic Commandos in one sitting. The NES BC is much better than the arcade version, but it is still very crude (you can only walk and grapple) and although the stage design compliments it and it's good for what it is, FA is on a whole other level interms of gameplay and design. The methodical grind through gauntlets of platforming/action challenges compliments the abilities you are given. Just like GnG games, you may fly through some sections, while having to figure out a set of maneuvers to solve other sections. Running into a puzzling stretch and figuring out a way through is very satisfying and never feels like a fluke amidst chaotic randomness like too many GnG games. Compared to many popular 16-bit action/platforming games in which you just kind of force your way through, FA feels incredibly deep and balanced. Even though it still seems like it isn't the full realization of the creators' ambitious plans and could have been polished much further.

I enjoy Fausette Amour, especially with the cinemas and music.  As for the game I agree with what BT said, but you might want to just emulate and try or burn a copy before forking out the money it goes for.  Plus, there are so many other great games to be had for far less.  This is still a solid game, but might not be for everyone.  With the price it is it's just better to go the try before you buy route.

This is an odd game, the first few stages are quite slow.  But the end of the game is incredible.  I wish it was a bit longer, but man the last 1/3 of the game is just about perfect.  The soundtrack is something truly unique as well made clearly for the game and not something youd want to hear outside of it.  Also after hot chicks give you a hard on you can go watch Girls Bravo (same artist) and have a good fap.

That's pretty much the way that I see it.  This seems to be the case with many of the higher priced Turbo games out there.  The value doesn't seem to be going down and is stable for many such as Fausette, so one could simply buy, play, then sell, having simply 'rented' the game for the price of shipping.

Interesting, I see where you are coming from. I guess I should replay both FA and BC in an actual side-by-side comparison...that would be fun.  Not that I have FA

FA is one of those 2nd tier games that have raised in eBay "value" of late. My theory is, once collectors get Drac X, Sapphire, DE2, etc...they turn there evil price rising death rays to other games that are playable in Japanese and have at least some decent game play. I think the same thing about Kaze...both are fine games but Spriggan beats them both IMO.

Just so folks know: I felt prices for many games were too high ten years ago (Sylphia, Fausette Amour, Kaze Kiri, etc.), so you can imagine what I think now.

Haha!  My grandmother took me to see The Neverending Story in theaters when I was a kid and she pulled me out of it part-way through.  I remember when we left that screen in her flustered state, she took me to the next closest screen and we sat down just in time to see a woman fully undress herself. I still don't know what movie that was...

And to post something on topic - If I were you, I'd burn the game and play it for a bit.  If it's something you keep coming back to, then consider shelling out the $$$ for it.  Otherwise, you're wasting your money.
