12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

I know there are several models of these, but how exactly do they fit into the HuCard port? I'm getting images of the original Game Genie on NES, that stuck about 8 feet out of the cartridge slot when a game was attached.

I'm thinking about ording the red one offered on TZD, i think its called the "marai'...any info would be great.

I used to have a Kisado and it stuck out a couple inches, not too bad though.  It definitely looked ugly, but it got the job done.  I haven't tried a Mirai or whatever, but most likely it sticks out somewhat too since they all are basically the same thing.

The bad thing about the kisado was that it was just a circuit board looking thing and a hucard adapter, no casing or anything so it looked like you had some sort of cybord shit hanging out of your system.  Some people might find that cool, but I thought it was pretty lame considering how much money they go for.

Hahahaha! "some sort of cyborg shit."

I always prefer the ghetto electronic looks :D . However I think for the price it costs to buy these converters that you may as well buy some kind of PCE system instead.

If I can recall, a region switch on your system from D Lite is slightly cheaper than a Kisado.

More than slightly cheaper!  Like roughly half the cost.
Check my site for Turbo, Neo, NGPC, and superguns!

That's what I did. I'd been looking around at PCE convertors for a long time, and with some of them going for 100 bucks, it dawned on me that just getting a PC Engine would be cheaper, and I could add another cool console to my collection. So after a few weeks of keeping my eyes peeled for a good deal on one, I recently got a CoreGrafx (first model) for only 60 bucks.

Not that I'm telling anyone else they should go this route, of course. If you really wanna get a convertor or a region switch, that's your business. =) And if D-Lite is offering the region mod for half the price of an adaptor, and you don't want another console lying around, that sounds pretty cool to me too.

Actually, a friend of mine used to have one of those older PCE adaptors (looked like a little plastic box with a HuCard slot, it was purple) and it worked okay but he said for some reason things like the Arcade Card didn't work right with it, so he couldn't use it to play his copy of Strider on his US Duo. Dunno if that's the case with other adaptors like the Kisado or that newer one from Australia that TZD offers.

I think I have even seen a Core Grafx II sell for 30 bucks on Ebay complete. I can't wait until my PCE+CDROM2 arrives :D .
