pc engine cd with turbografx

I just noticed how the pc engine cd rom 2 unit and the turbografx cd unit look almost exactly the same and was just wondering if you could use the pc engine cd unit with the turbografx 16 system and powerbase.

That's what im running since my PCE CD rom unit stopped working.  Got the dark gray core grafx I to give the system even more contrasting colors.
