Purty cool! I heard about Skydive Chicago from an old coworker, he had a photo on his cubicle that was taken by one of the guys that snaps a photo of a client in freefall, skin stretched all off their faces and everything - the usual. ;) Was meaning to try sky-diving eventually, but 14 years have passed since that time... Just never got around to it, OR, maybe I never seriously considered doing it in the first place. Heh.

Awesome, Terry! It seems that one in the orange suit is always zipping around in that video. I can't tell if they are newbie or showing off.

I've always wanted to get into skydiving and it has eluded me so far. I have done indoor skydiving a couple of times, but I can't image that's anything like the real thing.

Rofl, Tunnel work is as close as you can get and it has a much better learning curve. The downside it is a lot more expensive too (1hr ~ 750-1200.00)

The guy in the orange is a very highly experienced wingsuiter, he is doing pretty much all of that on purpose. I could only dream of being that good one day. Although I like how well he flies on his back, I prefer "Flocking" as we call it. You can see in some of the video how we are flying in a formation, thats what i enjoy. I like to focus and keep improving on my precision of flying in my slot. I am a part of 2 state records so I have a good coach. This past weekend we started practicing flying linked or docked like you saw in the video.

NW, i will tell you what I tell everyone who has thought about it. I high recommend you try it once in your life. Its an experience you will never forget. I think I have told you before but if not, I am an instructor at Skydive Chicago and we welcome anyone to just come out and check things out. Camping is free and your allowed welcome to bring the kids and hang out with us. We try to keep the Dropzone family oriented so that people feel welcome when they come out. If you decide you want to jump then your welcome to. If your nervous about someone you dont know taking you up, I would be more than happy to.

No Tats I didnt. Rover and I talked about it a week or so ago and as it turns out the house we rented was prolly only 5 mins from him.

Damn, missed out a chance to meet the Nöd by just 5 miles!!

I was swinging once recently and got pretty high, I could see above the bar on my way back up and continued to keep pumping, the chain was getting so loose at the top of my swing...

It felt like being on top of the world, the chain was floating in front of me like I was in a zero gravity chamber. Quickly I was jolted back to reality and continued my swing down. It was a crazy experience that I recommend everyone try in their lifetime. I guess your skyjumping is pretty neat too.

No, wingsuiting is actually flying. We can cover anywhere from 4-9 miles ground distance depending on winds.

Most I have done (that i logged) was 6 miles with a U-turn.

When I lived in Fayetteville, skydiving was fairly commonplace among the locals. It's where the 82nd Airborne division is housed.

My son was so enamored with it, he wanted to join in the second time we went. He was almost 3 at the time.

Maybe next time I'm up in your neck of the woods, Terry, I'll let you talk me into doing the real thing.

ah cool.. sorry was thinking of good ol' skydiving only

now wingsuiting sure is a total other rabbit hole.
