2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

Is it worth getting a Turbostick?

I've never been a fan of sticks in systems, but I can get one, new, for pretty cheap. Is this controller worth getting?

If it's cheap, then don't hesitate. And I think it's the only stick available for the Turbografx.

Altough I don't own a stick, I know that "X" one pops up on ebay here and there, so there are at least two sticks.

If you are interested in slo-mo it's worth it.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

The Turbostick is OK, definitely better than the Acemore Freedom 16, but I only ever use it for vertical shooters.  The turboswitch ROF can be turned up faster than the Turbopads can go and slow motion is nice.  It's a little too lightweight and plastic-y, but if you don't like it you can always remove the cable and make a 10' controller or Turbotap.   8)

The one-handed Quickshot is a novelty; it's no 3DO Flight Stick Pro.

I still haven't tried the Superstick.

There are a handful of 3rd party Turbografx sticks which are all relatively hard to find, and none of them are really worth owning IMO unless you are a collector. Although it's kind of cool that you can play left-handed with a Beeshu stick. Anyway, here are some pics of the sticks that I own:

Acemore Super Joystick and the Beeshu Ultimate Superstick: http://s877.photobucket.com/albums/ab336/chany60126/?action=view¤t=Soldier001.jpg

A regular Turbo Stick is definitely worth owning. It's comfortable to control and comes very handy for the shmups.

It's worth noting the Japanese TurboStick, the one that works with JP consoles and American Duos, is a bit more robust than the TurboGrafx-16 TurboStick and is bottom-weighted which is really, really nice.

Nat do you have a link to it?  Never seen it and both of those differences are things I have considered doing to mine

It's basically the same as the U.S. stick except for color and styling. The button/stick arrangement is identical. I think internally it's the same. I like it better than the U.S. one because it's weighted. Here are two on eBay right now:

Seeing as how the black U.S. stick was based on this one, not vice versa, it's a mystery why it's not weighted as well.

I was never a big fan of any sticks for home consoles.
Problem, as long they're not fixed down onto the table with a pinch cock etc., they will move, which makes it hard for me to enjoy the play. Therefore sticks belong into arcade (IMO) :).

The stick is way to small and doesn't have enought weight on the base so it moves all over the place. It feels very cheap. Get a hori
