Turbo Express video and sound fix questions

Figures the TE I buy that was suppose to be working doesn't, but seems as though even if it worked now it has a high chance of failing down the road. I have backlight but no picture, no sound through the speaker and weak sound through the headphones so appears to be the usual problems.

I've got a bit of experience soldering. Last thing I did was repair some broken solder points on the cart connector of an original odyssey which was pretty easy. Soldered some stuff on other game systems too. As long as I have a good guide I am probably good to go with following instructions.

The video fix seems pretty easy, the sound a little more involved. Seems like I should do it all at once if I get the thing open. Radio Shack still a place I can get the caps I need and can anyone make it simple for me and tell me what to get. I see a lot of different things mentioned and I am a little confused.

This the right cap for the video fix?

Mouser is another website I see suggest for getting parts but there are so many products to choose from. Particular brands/models anyone recommends?

Sorry no one responded to this sooner!  Its hard picking out which capacitors to get.... I tend to pick Panasonic branded if possible.  Mouser carries tons of different capacitors, I try and stick to 16V ones for most applications (except for the few that require 35V or 50V)  I'll try and look up the part number of the video and audio caps for the TE.  Although honestly, if you're in there, you may as well swap them all out.

I usually get Nichicon caps from mouser.  They are small and will fit nicely on the TE's PCB.  Radio shack's are usually too big and you would need to solder with wires and find a place where it fits.

Nichicon are good too   I was trying to remember the other brand I'd usually try and buy   Yeah, do look at the physical size of the caps youre buying (its listed on mouser)  smaller is def better!
