@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Hello new here.  I just got a new pc engine duo r off ebay, and unfortunately it has trouble reading discs.  It has most trouble reading near the beginning of a game but holding down the lid seems to help.  I'll hear clicking noises and the CD will stop spinning so I have to open the lid and close it again and it starts working again.  Some music tracks play fine but sometimes they go all staticy and then stop playing or play another track.  For example, Ys 1 seems to get really staticy when I load it up then plays what seems to be the wrong music.  I tried a regular audio CD.  It had trouble playing some tracks at first then I went back to them and they worked.

Anybody want to have a look at my system and see if they can fix it?  Thanks.

thesteve here in these forums does just that. He can repair your duo-r and even put in a new laser if need be. you can click on his name in the post above this one and send him a message. he is reliable and reasonable so dont hesitate to give him a shout.

your system likely just needs to be cleaned and the gears and track greased
