It reminds me of the completely original Nuon controller I have.

jeez guys, just because Nintendo does it doesn't make it a great idea.

Or is this another case of 'we have thousands of n64 controller cases we can't sell, let's use them for...'

Maybe the Panasonic version never got off the ground because copying is a big no no. They could have changed the color - it would look cooler in black.

Very interesting, that's a console that you don't see everyday.  A working console with software is really hard to find.  The demo screens do look nice.

I had a M2 dev drive box, FZ-DR21 years ago.  Looks very similar to the one in the link but it was only the CDrom portion of the dev system and not complete.  I didn't have any software, so it was basically a fancy paper weight that I couldn't do anything with it. 

The M2 'testing' controller that I still have looks nothing like N64 styled controller.  I'll try and post some of my old pictures if I can dig them up.

Me too, except for the controller. Heck, even the controller looks nice - except for the shape.

The controller looks like cheap garbage, but the console itself would have been for sure one of the nicest looking consoles ever.

I like the design of that pad, if the finished product was similar in feel to Panasonic's 3do controller it would have been nice.

Thought I would bump this, since I sold off one of my kiosk units last year. A beta of IMSA Racing and a shooter demo were put up on the net that worked on the kiosk units. You can use a normal 3DO pad on the kiosk decks for the game stuff. I am going to list my other unit soon probably since I don't mess with this kinda stuff anymore. The kiosk units can do composite, s-video, and vga out, and some are issued with cd drives, diskette drives, hard drives and dvd drives, depending on which revision you got. The one I have still is about the best model you can get, Quantum Fireball 20gb hd/dvd drive system. I wasn't too interested in the arcade M2 titles, but the IMSA game, I mean its not even finished or polished off or anything, but it totally smokes any racing game I've played on N64 visually and frame rate wise. I cant really say how the thing would have stood up against the Dreamcast all in all, but the N64 was easily no match for it.

The steering wheel built into the controller (grey ring around direction pad on left)...I don't know how practical it would be, but it certainly is an interesting concept.

Ah okay. Probably going to be too rich for my blood. I wouldn't mind having it to show in MGC's museum. Ah well.

Yeah the last one I sold ended for around 300 bucks, and it was the basic no frills unit with just a cd rom drive. Since this one has a hard drive, dvd drive, and some software included it may go for a bit more, but who knows.
