2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

Is it time the community created a proper PC Engine / TG-16 Wiki?
It could feature entries for every game, game companies, hardware etc as well as links to PCE related sites and articles.

I made a page on Wikia: www.pcengine.wikia.com just to claim the space. I have no experience of editing a wiki so I'm a bit clueless at the moment.

If people think this is a good idea, perhaps we can discuss and appoint a group of admins that can decide on guidelines, the style of the content and police it for incorrect or stupid edits.

I dunno - it IS a good idea...  But personally, while I would say I know more about the PC Engine than most (especially Retro Gamer magazine), there are people here that make me look like a noob.

If you had to start, I'd start with the White PC Engine as a template with everyone contributing to the article, and then use the sections and writing style as a basis for the other hardware.  In fact, I will go so far as to suggest an order of articles to focus on:

PC Engine
Turbo Grafx
Core Grafx
Core Grafx II
Super Grafx
CD ROM2
Turbo CD
Super CDROM2
Duo
Duo US
Duo R
Duo RX
GT
TE
LT
(not including rarer than that for now, ie Laser Active and that weird monitor)
Then onto the system cards in order.

Nice!  I am sure some of our folks will chime in with an edit or two or three.

Tatsujin

great idea. beside a big pool of information it will become, I can imagine that it will be perfect place to link all communities and pce related sites together, doesn't matter which language :)
www.pcedaisakusen.net - home of your individual PC Engine collection!!
PCE Games countdown: 690/737 (47 to go or 93.6% clear)
PCE Shmups countdown: 111/111 (all clear!!)
Sega does what Nintendon't, but only NEC does better than both together!^^
<Senshi> Tat's i'm going to contact the people of Hard Off and open a store stateside..

FUCK YEAH WIKITHINGS.
Maybe I will edit some things later.

I got dibs on China Warrior.
This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

Nando

OH NICE!! that would be really cool.

I'd be willing to compile all the answers and resources I've gotten about game making on the PCE and contribute that.

I think anything related to creating games on the PCE should go in the obeybrew.com wiki instead.

Before we start adding a load of stuff, we need to work out page formatting, preferred game names and things like that.

Yeah make a template page first.  That will also set the tone for how technical it will be.

Sweet, I can do that too. I'll get all posts and what not sorted out then go from there. Been meaning to do that my personal files anyway.

That will help me out (I should never have gotten a Vita - I've barely touched my laptop since)

A nicely detailed wiki sounds great.  I'll pitch in any place that I can.

Here's a test template page: http://pcengine.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Game_Page

Any feedback? Anything missing or alternate formatting preferred?

As a rule, the game pages should be named with their original Japanese titles (or American titles if first released in the US).

_Paul

I guess that means people are fine with it...

Well, let's declare the wiki page active. It's now down to everyone to add and correct anything on there. The only way it will work is as a community effort (don't expect me to write it all, I've got more on my plate than I can handle at the moment!).

So get wiki-ing: http://pcengine.wikia.com/wiki/PC_Engine/TurboGrafx-16_Wiki
