need a little help

Hi guys - I'm trying to hook up a composite LCD through the expansion bus, but I think I'm being slightly dense.

I hooked up the composite input to c22, composite sync, but I think that's the wrong pin - what's composite out?

And secondly, I cut an old AC adaptor to go to the power, and it's got 2 copper strands inside.  I've tried soldering one to C21 and one to A21, ground and 5v.  Have I completely misunderstood how the power jack is wired?  Either way, it's not getting power.

Use A22 for video.

Use A11 or A14 for power, plus any ground pin (C8 or C17 for example).

C21 provides power OUT from the console, i.e. to power external devices.

Make sure you're using a regulated adapter that outputs 5 volts and use a multimeter to make sure you get positive/negative the right way around.

It kind of is an external device, isn't it?  Yeah, I need to get the multimeter, A22 isn't working either

Well I've figured the problem, but I have no idea what to do about it...  using a multimeter, the tennokoe 2 I'm using doesn't supply a voltage on any pin connected to the bus.  I've tried a few engines, and say c22 is fine, but there seems to be some kind of connectivity issue.  any ideas?!

balls, this isn't working at all.  The tennokoe is getting power, as evinced by the power light, but no pin is supplying a significant voltage.  I'd have thought it was a standard bus connector, nothing special... but I have no way of knowing how it's wired up "inside".  Unless..  I guess I could trash it a little by removing any connectors I don't need, but that would impact stability, and it's a little much.  And there's no telling if I'd be able to do anything afer that anyway.

buh-buh-buh-buh (Zelda noise)  looks like I wasn't using the multimeter right.  I thought I was using a ground, but obviously not.  I used the contacts for the LED.  So we're getting power, good.  No composite from A22 though.

And yet the signal is definitely getting through...  I've got an RCA connector soldered onto A22, andf that's connected to the jack on the screen.  That should be all I need right?  No ground (from the PCE), no composite sync?

I'm building an LT basically, using a tennokoe, an LCD screen and a PC engine.  Just trying to connect everything up first.  I'm using the expansion bus connector on the Tennokoe to solder all my connections together

Holy shitsnacks, it was the cable.  Bastard thing wasted hours of my life already on my famicom mod...

Yeah, I snipped an old PS2 video cable, and hey presto.  Liftoff.  That's that shit out of the way.  Thanks for the help Frank, Steve
