@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

I just picked up another turbo express but it didn't come with a battery cover. If any of you have an extra one laying around, please hit me up:)

CrackTiger

This is the kind of thing that would be good to repro using one of those 3D printers.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

I second that. My company does 3d printing. If I can get a drawing, I can probably get some made.

I think I would need a drawing with dimensioning and all that.

While we're at it, we should 3-D print the whole housing, but making it 3.5 screen-ready, mod-friendly, and six button configuration.  I vote for PC-Engine White! or Turbo Grafx Red.

Oh and separate from this, design new screen protectors with logos!

I will hit up the designer of the Turbo Everdrive cover and see if he could help out. Just FYI it will probably cost about $25 from Shapeways

Quote from: guest on 06/17/2013, 01:59 PMI don't have a TE yet, but I can see how this would benefit the community.  I'll lend a hand... this should help with the 3d printing process.  Please let me know if you need it from any other angles (for orthographic projection).

A custom TE shell would be pricey to have printed.  It could be done though.

I'd happily send my TE battery cover out to get 3D scanned (or whatever is needed to make new ones) as long as it's returned when finished. :)

ok heard back from the TE cover designer Buffalo. He said that the best bet for this is resin casting. Anyone got any experience with that? That would be our best bet, more accurate mold of the item since 3D printing is still in the early stages right now and won't be as accurate (could waste some initial prints).

Early stages lol.  I did a report in collage about 3D printing about 20 years ago.  3D printing is as accurate as the machine is set for.  Places like Shapeways won't set their machines for the extra fine settings because is so slow.  I have personally seen a 3D printer print optically clear lenses that needed no extra finishing steps.

Yes early stages 10 years from now we will be printing from home. Early as in still the beginning of the product life cycle. Wow dude you did a report on this 20 years ago....lol

It's like anything else new the resolution isn't as high today because the drawback is the speed but eventually it will get better.

The resolution is there right now.  You won't find many of the consumer level printing companys offering it though because it will tie up their machines.  There is a local place here that print for mechanical prototypes at whatever resolution that you need it printed at.  They could print a battery cover that you could not tell was printed at all.

I actually sent my TE to Turbokon to be modded, but when it gets sent back to me I could do a vacuum form of the cover and either pour resin into the mold and have a solid resin piece or just fiberglass it.

I make power ranger helmets using this technique so Ill bet I could get a fairly accurate result doing this. And if I fiberglass it I can always sand/putty it till its perfect.

Duo_R

That would be awesome if we could get some more made I can make battery door cover lithium batteries like I have made previously.
