No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! Discovered this obscure gem today. Great game!
It's a run and gun by Studio Pixel, the guy that made Cave Story. 7 levels. Similar gunplay and huge bosses just like Cave Story. There's also a New Game+ as well.

You can get it for $5 on iOS, and it has really good controls surprisingly. Or for $8 on PC.

This looks quite promising. I must investigate further.
