Hello all,

New member here happy to join the forums. I was told about this place from fellow collectors on Facebook so I wanted to come join and check the place out.

A long while back when I was a kid my older brother owned both a TG-16 and a Turbo Duo which I spent countless hours playing. He had a pretty big library of games so I have a lot of fond memories. One of my favorites was Bonk's Adventure and Bonk's Revenge which I played on that triple disk w/ Gates of Thunder (and Bomberman!). Looking back, I can see I was actually a fan of Hudson titles growing up. Adventure Island, Lode Runner, Bomberman on NES... Always a big fan of Bomberman with friends over the years across many consoles.

Well anyway, unfortunately those days are long gone and so are the TG-16 and Turbo-Duo of my childhood are as well (not by my choice I can tell you that much). So here I am trying to do more research into getting a new console so I can revisit the titles of my childhood. From everything I've read it seems my best option would be to pick up a PC-Engine Duo R or RX. I'd really like to get one in good condition so I figured my best bet was to come here and ask around here where I should pick one up. I've seen the RGB modded consoles by doujindance which are fantastic cosmetically but seem to be pretty pricey. I do not have any type of way to utilize RGB connectivity and I doubt I'll be stumbling upon a Sony PVM anytime soon randomly.

Any idea where I should look to pick up a Duo-R or RX? What a fair price would be for one in great cosmetic condition? I appreciate the insight, and thanks!

Welcome.  Check with Turbokon and Keith Courage for a Duos, and don't be afraid of a refurbed original Duo; once they've been recapped, laser adjusted, etc., they're just as reliable as an R or RX.

Welcome.  I second Necro's tips.  getting a decent refurb/modded Duo (any duo) is never a bad idea.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!
