Quote from: some block off youtubeIn one episode, Dodongo c-walks out of a convenience store with a 40 at 7:40 AM, steals an arcade machine from an auction, haggles in Spanish for a stuffed papa smurf to use as a sex toy, and buys Secret of Mana for a dollar.

Oh snap!  This might be the first mobile game I buy in my life.

Bluetooth gamepad support is a make or break thing for me on this. I would not want to play a contra game with touch pad controls.

I hope this project is well made, well tested for playability, because I don't think it looks bad in terms of gameplay - looking very similar to the games in the series I enjoyed.

Sure I'd rather they had larger budget bigger scale titles, but I think this is a step in the right direction to support and keep their IPs alive, and gives me hope for future Konami titles. The gameplay and art quality should not be affected by the platform at this point, a great looking and playing title can be on any platform, so that doesn't scare me about this - the question of gamepad support does concern me though.

I am sure they are making this with tools that easily port it to PS4/XBone/NX/WiiU/3DS, so the fact they are producing this content makes me hopeful for ports to a platform I'd be more likely to play.

Some Contra is better than no Contra, I think..

Bring on the linear Castlevania! :)

This looks...uh...disappointing.  I think I'd rather that Konami didn't make games at all anymore.
Current want list:  Bomberman 93

I'm not really into polygonal 2D games like shown in the trailer. I also don't care for games that with drawn 2D graphics, e.g. Dragon's Crown, because these have a cheap scent of Flash animation on them with those wiggle effects (and I'm not even talking of breasts, although it would fit the context).
I prefer traditional 2D graphics with sprites and pixels. Konami did so well with the ReBirth titles on the Wii, I wonder why they feel the need to go for polygons.

It looks interesting. Hopefully a console port

Personally, I'm surprised that konami is making more than just soccer and metal gear games again.

I agree that the polygonal art and dynamic camera are not looking great, but from a production cost POV it's entirely understandable why they went that route. This reeks of unity and Jr 3d artists, which encourages the hopes of a mainstream console port.

I love your point about the wii ware games, those have to be moved to a place with more visibility and player base. Unless you know specifically go go hunt those games down, and pay full price for each title, there is no way to play them AFAIK. Port those bad boys over to android/iOS and give them Bluetooth gamepad support!!
