@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Much as the subject states, I'm having an issue with my Turbografx-16 unit. I bought a dbBooster so I could get RGB and S-video out on my Turbo without having to mod the system - like the proper Turbobooster it just plugs into the expansion port. The problem is that there is no red color coming out of those outputs. I sent it back, and the guy said that it tested out fine on his three systems - no color issues. He therefore suggests that the problem is with the red pin on my expansion port.. I'm having the board sent back since at the least I can use composite out of it, but still really want to get that RGB running properly.

Anyone have any ideas on how I could fix that problem? I've never opened up the Turbo before, and while I have some soldering gear my experience is pretty much limited to minor repairs on an Atari 2600.

I bet there's a bad trace or solder joint somewhere - it might be worth trying to track that down if you have a multimeter with a continuity test setting (the kind that beep if there's continuity between the two probes). If you're really lucky, you might just have to reflow something near the bad pin in question; otherwise you might have to run a small wire from where the red signal is getting lost, to that pin.

Check that a pin has not bent in the connector.

The pin looks straight enough on the outside, so my personal guess is there's some issue inside.
