PC-Engine Controller work with a TurboDuo?

Just wondering for people that own all these different systems how compatible the controllers are with each other?  I know you can't use a TG-16 controller on a TD without an adaptor.  Wondering if you can use any of the JP system controllers on the US systems?

Yes, the PC Engine controllers work on the US Turbo Duo or US Laseractive.

The TG16 pads work on the Vistar and PAL TurboGrafx.

Thanks.  I never understood why the TG16 controller wouldn't work with the TD since they pretty much are the same.  I have the opportunity to get a PC-Engine controller and wanted to make sure it'll work with a Turbo Duo.

The TG-16 controllers do work on Duo and PCE systems, but the plug is twice the size. When TTi rebranded the line as "Duo", they sold an adapter to connect Turbo controllers.

There's also reverse Turbo and Duo taps out there that allow you to plug in five controllers for TG16 into a PC Engine/Duo pinout console or vice versa. But those aren't as widely available these days.

I do have a TG16 controller with an adaptor that I use with my duo.  I was just curious if a PC Engine controller will work with a Turbo Duo without the need of an adaptor.  Like I said, I can get my hands on a PC Engine controller but not going to bother if I can't use it on my Duo.  And really don't feel like getting an adaptor for it if that's the only way I'll be able to use it.

Yes, PC Engine pads will work directly in a TurboDuo, with no adapter required. I just got a few pads in from Japan, and they work just fine.

Sorry, my reply may have been a little confusing.   But like the person above said, the duo pads and pc engine pads are the same and compatible with each other.
