12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

Did you mean "except", or am I really supposed to believe that the TurboExpress doesn't have a phone?  [-(

And I changed my vote to Lords Of Thunder, better music.

On Genesis only, you are correct.
Thanks :|. I suppose that's why SuperPCEngineGrafx was only able to show a Japanese version of the game in his [urlhttps://www.superpcenginegrafx.net/bomberman_94_comp.html] screenshot comparisons between Bomberman '94 and Mega Bomberman.[/url]

The Turbo Express was neat for the time, but it just doesn't hold up. We need someone to hack us a new portable with better battery life and a higher-res, better, brighter screen. If only Ben Heckendorn could be won over to the cause.

It ain't the same thing, but you could always go the PSP and emulator route.  Probably the closest thing to a new Express that you'll be seeing anytime soon.

That would be pretty damn cool, but like you said, it's just not the same thing. heh. It would be amazing if "they" (they = whomever was willing to do it) made a new TE, with more buttons/bigger screen/better battery life.....

...lets just say I'm not holding my breath.  :-&

Hey, the patents are surely expired by now. All we have to do is get someone who's good with chip design to make us a PCE/TG one-chip solution and we're good to go. There are NES and Genny versions all over the place, including some nice looking, and performing, handhelds. Nothing saying it can't happen for the PCE/TG as well.

The TG-16 obviously never had the fans that the NES and Genesis enjoyed, so a TG-16 based controller (which is where the NOAC and GOAC came from) would likely be a poor seller and unprofitable.  It'd be awesome if someone would make 'em, but it's a pretty big investment for something with such limited appeal; I'll be wishing in one hand and crapping in the other - any guesses on which one will fill first?  :)

You didn't take into account that some things are received better when they're rediscovered, however NEC still owns the patents and stuff, that's why they were able to license TG-16 stuff to Nintendo.

it's hudson that got Turbo games on the VC, not NEC. They divested themselves of their game division (now just called interchannel.)

NEC and Hudson Entertainment are two entirely different entities, so what's your point?  It's highly unlikely that H.E. holds the patents on the original hardware, not that it matters considering that patents are only good for 20 years and have likely expired (the software was protected by copyright law, which is effectual for far longer).  Anyway, the V.C. has actually hurt the chances of more controller thingys, since people can just download the games they want and not screw around with one of those things.
