What is the name of this game??

So I vaugely remember a game that was made by Hudson I think. Anyway I thought it was Adventure Island but that isn't it as I looked at a video from youtube and no luck . I know it was on the NES but I also think it came out on the PC Engine/Turbo Grafx 16. It is a side scrolling platformer about a guy on a island with dinosaurs and he skate boards and tosses axe's etc. Anyone know what the name is and if it actually came out on this system or am I mistaken. I just really liked that game and it doesn't matter if it was a Hu-card or CD as I have a DUO and a DUO-RX with a 128mb flash cart and arcade card both with the region mod and new lasers!! So I can play just about anything (except Altered Beast CD ). Thanks and BTW I am new to this site but I got a big feeling I will be here for a while as I am in love with my new DUO's

Adventure Island on pce is actually Wonderboy the Dragon's Trap! New Adventure Island is the remake of the classic WonderBoy/AdventureIsland.

hehe thanks turboD for some reason I thought that was *Super* Adventure Island eventhough now that I look at the cover again it does say *New* Adventure Island in kanji!

Haha. This is the most confusing series of games in existence. Someone should seriously do a continuity video for this series that covers all the systems and games. I'd be surprised if AVGN doesn't do it eventually.

(New Adventure Island) isn't hard to find for the pce it's rather common compare,to the tg16 one.

Well for now I am going to just play the ROM. I have already hacked the US one for my DUO-RX till I can afford to buy it PCE flash carts rox!!

The main character in Takahashi Meijin no Bôken Jima is supposed to be based on Toshiyuki Takahashi, first made famous by the company for his ability to tap a controller button up to 16 times a second. He even has his own blog on the official Hudson Soft site if I remember well.

Here's more info about the Wonderboy/adventure island series (and Hudson Soft own adaptations) for the PC Engine - let me know if you find any errors/mistakes in my research
