Welcome to Sparky's Crafts Corner!!!? Get your apron on and will begin :)
There is nothing better than the real thing when it comes to TG16/PCE cases but here is a ghetto solution that can be done to your regular cd case to get the job done?

First, buy a pack of 3M Command strips ($5 in canada) You get 20 clips & these clips do a nice job for holding your hucards with a sleeve or without. They are clear in colour and easy to put on.
I start off by taking out the inside of the cd case tab and then press down firmly to indent the cd tab, Next i put the clear clip on the Hucard with it s sticky back piece and then stick it to the CD case so i get it nice and centered... oooooh ya

And sweet jebus that is it, your hucard is held firmly in a regular cd case :)

optional? if you want to put the time in, buy Krylon Fusion Plastic spray paint (satin black) and spray the back of your cd case, holy shit it looks good and matches the black tray inserts of the cd case and looks simliar to the backs of the TG16 cases.

Anyway, you might not agree with me but those clips are the best solution i have found for holding hucards,
Any other thoughts would love to hear :)

Lol, very creative solution. I actually have some of those Command strips (I think they are called something else on the package I have), and they were being advertised for holding Xmas light wiring, or other wiring.

nat

Is it really held firmly? It looks as if it would just slide from side to side.

maybe put some on the sides as well, heh. Awesome idea regardless, Sparky!  8) I bought some of those clips at the 99c store here in America to hang my keys on the wall. They work pretty good and hold up for quite a while.

Nat - my thoughts exactly. I am thinking maybe one of these on the bottom of hucard and side would help secure it? No way that clip on the bottom is going to prevent that from sliding around.

Very creative though, I like the idea.

Yes way!!... i am not blowing smoke up your ass :) the cards fit firmly in place and do not slide,
the clip slides right into that little thumb grip groove on the Hucard and because it fits firmly even if it could slide it would catch on this groove.  There are different types of these clips, these ones are for Xmas lights and are very small.

the idea of the century??? hells no! but a simply solution that gets the job done  8)

If anyone wants the actual cases there is a seller on Ebay that I buy empty Keith's Courage, US sports and China Warrior from for $4 each shipped with HU cards sleeves. The seller is mediaencyclopedia and I think it is a nice deal since you can't find real cases anywhere. That would be a money making adventure right there, if only I could afford such an adventure. :(

I didn't see any cases for sale, the hucards state that you can add for $1.50 each for case and manual, but that he does not sell separately.

Just PM him and he will sell them to you. That is all I do he never had any on Ebay. I just one day after doing a lot of business with him sent him a message and asked if he would sell me some cases and he replied yep for $4 each. Just ask him he will sell them I promise. :)

I have six or seven cases I do not need (since I mainly colelct loose hucards) and will give them up for $3 each if anyone is interested.

Nice solution! Does the center of the case that holds the CD in place get in the way by pushing the HuCard outwards?
Quote from: TurboXray on 01/02/2014, 09:21 PMAdding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

a little, but as long as you pop out the center tray and push in the center to cave it in some all works good,
I also found some black 3M tape (used on car) which will match better to the black cases.

i love ghetto solutions :P

Spark,

again brilliant idea. However, when I went to use the decorative clips, the CD case would not shut completely. Although it was almost all the way closed, it wasn't flush. I am having a clearance issue, so I actually did without the 3M stick, and used super glue. I will post up some pictures, but I think it came out really good. I also used a clip on the bottom and the side.

well thats a good solution as well... now did you push in on the plastic cd holding tab? if you take the shell out of the case and press in it caves in better and will give ya more clearance :) would be cool to see the picts  8)

pics of my ghetto solution - super glue 2 clips. The only thing I found Sparky had 40 packs, so I had clips to spare:

/1110082243dxm2.jpg

2nd one is a little blurry. Now I was VERY conservative on putting the super glue on the clips. First I figured out where they would go, do a test fit before gluing. Then just dab a tiny bit on left and right side of the clips. Use the tip of the super glue dispenser to spread the glue around. Then carefully press down on the exact spot that you want to place the clip. Try to not move it around, that will not look as nice (although sometimes I moved just a little and you couldn't tell. Hold it for like 5 seconds let it sit for another 10, you are good to go!

But yeah Sparky, maybe these are different? I could not slide a Hucard (without sleeve) in like you did and close the case. It had nothing to do with the center piece, the clearance on the clip just didn't work. But the solution I posted works very nicely and it looks good.

Also, that is a badge sleeve that I cut to fit a hucard. Of course I just bought a 10 pack of hucard sleeves so don't really need this one anymore.
