I remember posting about this on the Turbolist back in the 90's but without a picture...

I imagine some disgruntled print setter got a good laugh out of that...

Games currently in play:
PS3: COD Ghosts
TG16: Boxyboy

TheClash603

I had no idea Splash Lake was ported to the Jaguar CD.

kazekirifx

There are plenty of other games that would more easily qualify for the Turdo GrafX library than Splash Lake.

I have been trying to suppress the spread of this information for years.

FEKA will use it as ammunition for their propaganda machine. IMG

So if "Splash Lake" is used as slang for a "toilet"....

Jaguar CD = Splash Lake

Perfect..

I'm a cunt, always was. Topic Adjourned.

There are plenty of typos and errors on Turbo stuff.  Check out the back of Loom.  The caption for the dragon and weather pics are reversed.  :)

The French booklet had a lot of typos and translation problems... When you translate something from Japanese to English then to French... it can get hilarious!

FiftyQuid

Ah the Turd-o...  Now that brings me back.  I believe the Turd-o Grafx was not received by the public very well, so the name was changed to the TurboGrafx shortly after.  The Turd-o Grafx name was dumped.  8)

That's hilarious.   They seem to use that same sentence on most of the cd and hu manuals but somehow the managed to screw it up.

Well, technically.... with run and select - it actually does.  :)

LOL.  All this time I thought my manual was a defect.  Turns out it was, it just wasn't mine.

It Came From the Desert has a similar typo on the manual cover.

turboswimbz

Has anyone every noticed the Alien Crush manual lists the features of the play screen, (why this is even needed for pinball game is a little suspect anyway) and almost nothing is named correctly.  Always makes me laugh a bit.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

I am going to have to check it out, never bothered looking at the manual

Shadow of the Beast has a typo on the rear insert.  Can anyone find it?  I noticed it last year.

Have to look back on wich game i saw it but in the back recommendations list there's like 3 recommendations but 6 bullets....

PCEngineHell

Due to the shity artwork, I would consider most any pre-TTi cover a typo due to how badly they represent the game, but that goes without saying.

WHAT! the artwork on the old TG16 was epic.  A skull on the drop off cover, enough said

You're so crazy :pcgs:. NEC's gift to the world was unique art, instead of simply recycling the original Japanese covers.

Timeball's artwork/design is superior to Blodia's. This alone warrants the localization of the packaging:

IMGIMG

Thank goodness we can savor these moments: the cold, sterile 3-Dimensional models of Blodia versus the vibrant, trippy, color-streaking, spiritual awakening of Timeball. :pcds:

Of course, neither of these two covers captures the 100% PURE ADRENALIN of the original art:

It came from the desert has this typo

I was scanning New Adventure Island's manual today and I noticed that the trademark info on the back of the manual states:

"New Adventyure Island is a trademark of Hudson Soft."

jelloslug

The Bomberman '93 manual has tons of typos.  Even the address for TTI on the back is spelled wrong.

roflmao

I was just reading through the China Warrior manual and ran across a bunch of stuff that was whack.  If I wasn't so lazy, Id get up and type some of it up.  Maybe I'll do that in a bit. ;)

Can't wait until I steal this game and sell it as my own, since they fucked the Trademark up.

Scrivener's Error laws be damned!

DildoKKKobold

I don't have a picture of this, but I was doing some Dungeon Explorer research. I noticed that the White Magic spell for the Bishop, "Mortal Bless," doesn't have a description in the table on the next page. Not really a misprint, but still sort of a mistake.

Not so much a typo, but it drives me flipping crazy when playing a good RPG and something you find in the game is nowhere to be found in the manual. Can I sell it for gold? Does it open a secret passage? Do I need it to finish the game? I probably sound like I'm whining, but I'm 36 with one year old twins, so in the words of Sweetness Brown,  "I ain't got no time for that!"

Well played sir. I guess I don't mean EVERYTHING, but sometimes there is some important stuff left out.  Especially spells. I mean think about it, in real life, if a wizard or some slut sorceress is going to teach you a spell, wouldnt you bother asking what it does?
