I remember that one of the ingredients had to be flown in by the bird.

I do remember that the witch tells you what potion the ingredients you selected will make before actually making the potion. If it's not the Clear potion, just try again.

This was one of the sections I played in japanese during my English play-through because the music kept cutting out in my Duo RX which hates cdr's, so I don't know if she still tells you still. But in katakana she definately said "clear potion" before mixing.

Oi, I remember getting stuck at the same place when I used that walkthrough.  You're trying to get the potion to get past the barracade right?  The first time I tried to complete the game, I actually quit at that point.  The walkthrough fails to mention that one of the ingredients is in one of the towns you have already visited.  I think it's the town where Timmy lives, just visit the item shop and bingo.  So simple really, yet a huge obstacle when you don't know Japanese.

I'm playing the fan translation of it the one that Riggs did.

I did try the bird but it didn't give me any thing.

I got batu ash but i have no idea what other igredient is

Yeah i do need the potion to, get past that guard for what Leo left in his office.

You have to go to each bird calling rock in the game.

You'll continue to get all the ingredients indefinately, including the ones you can buy in shops.

Ok that's what i'm probably missing then.

I never did check all the stops for the bird.

Mix the first two ingredients.

If you're missing the first one, summoning the bird outside of Promarock is supposed to do it.

The other(is it the ash?) can be bought at at least one shop, but I think its in more than...

Alright. I tried loading Ys IV yesterday only to find that my save files were gone.

So I'll try my Tennokoe Banks next chance I get to see if I can find save late enough to capture some screen shots of what to mix.

That's ok i went ahead and finsh Ys IV.

Great game period i think the key is to check. The bird for every check point in the game if you don't you mess out on it.

Since some of the towns do, get destory afther the Golden City is brought up.
