yeah it's not a bad game, it's just really tough. The graphics are gorgeous in parts. It's one of those shooters where there's a sweet spot you have to be in at all times to make it through the level.
But the opening makes it worth it, if you haven't played it these guys yell "RAIZANBERRRR" at the beginning and it's really goofy.

Great game, one of my favorites on the system.

PS - Ninja Gaiden PCE is a walk in the park compared to the NES.  If you want an easy game, that is it (except the last boss that is).

Interesting, I consider this one of the console's better shooters, and that's saying a lot. I haven't beat it personally, it's definitely a challenge. Things don't really get tough until stage 4, though.

Whoever makes this trade better be into challenging shooters, and everyone will walk away happy.

Ray III is the best in the series...if you can get your hands on that one BUY IT!!! Much easier too.

But for those of you that want a challenging shooter...Ray II is your game.
