Name the last movie you've seen in theatres!

I don't go to the theatre that much, but the last one I saw was Prometheus. I thought it was pretty good. Loosely tied to the Aliens franchise.

As far as upcoming movies go, I sort of want to see Total Recall. It probably won't compare to the 1990 original, but should be nice to see what modern cinema can do for a remake.

The Dark Knight Rises. It's long at 2 hours and 45 minutes, but totally enjoyable.

Ah, "Tron: Legacy" has been my latest favorite movie. Watched it like over 15 times and could still enjoy it! The last movie to get that many or more replays by me was the Matrix. Another one that comes to mind is "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" with Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson, an oddball comedy that I'd highly recommend. I think that got about 5 repeat-viewings, very enjoyable!

Prometheus.  I liked it.  People were expecting way to much out of it, or were wanting a total "new" alien.  "To me" it  was exactly how I thought it was going to be.  So personally to me I liked it.  Also, Fassbender is an amazing actor.

For Greater Glory. It was a pretty awesome film that stars Andy Garcia. It's about Mexico during the 1920's when they prohibited the practice of religion in public. Highly recommended for history buffs, lots of great fighting scenes as well.

IMO Prometheus was a truly, truly epic film, about as epic as epic gets.
Peeps going in expecting another film in the Aliens series were perhaps disappointed as isn't that kind of film, there wasn't lots of running in tunnels whilst being chased by Aliens.
It was better, it was more than that, it had a very, very deep plot and not just guns, face huggers and acid blood.

I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan and Loved Alien and Aliens (the others Alien films were shite) but IMO Prometheus is a better film.

I think it was Spiderman.  It was pretty good.  I do wish they would've scaled back on the retelling of how he came to be, kinda like what they did with the 2nd Hulk movie.  My wife seemed to really like it, moreso then the last trilogy.

Haven't seen Dark Knight Rises yet.  I've heard it's not as dark as the last one, which is just fine.  My wife n' I both were bored & depressed with Dark Knight.  I haven't bothered to see it again, though, it did take me seeing Batman Begins a few times to actually enjoy it.  I don't really care for Christian Bale as Bats, but he's ok.  Certainly better then Val Kilmer, & all the more so then George Clooney, but I think I still like Michael Keaton more for some strange reason.  Not that he was totally accurate, cuz they had him using bullets n' stuff.  My Bats is Kevin Conroy, too bad he couldn't do live action.  And Heath did 0 for me as Joker.  Give me Jack any day of the week.  I like my psychopaths named Joker to have a sense of humor.  About the only comedic side I saw with Heath was him dressed up as a nurse.  Otherwise, he just seemed like your average everyday psycho, more like Zsasz if you ask me. 

I do love Gary Oldman as Gordon though, as well as Liam Neeson as Ra's, Moorgan Freeman as Luscious, & Michael Caine as Alfred!  But, I just feel like the whole "making things more realistic" for this series, dumbed it down(for lack of a better word).  One of the major things about Bats, is that he's not a meta human, but he can go toe to toe with them.  In the comics, Ra's is basically immortal, he's lived thousand of years thanks to the Lazarus Pit.  Not so in this.  He's just a moniker of whoever takes over the League of Shadow's(though, I still pretend in my own little world that Ra's of Batman Begins is indeed thousands of years old, & is still alive).  To me, he's essentially a meta human, since he can be way more powerful then the average human(after coming out of the Lazarus Pit).  Same thing with Bane, he's a super villain in the comics with super powers ala venom.  It's just a bummer to me.  Bats can beat Sups, who is deffinitly a meta human.  I'm sure next with Chris Nolan doing Sups, they'll make him a native from some island called Kryptonia or something, & he can "jump" really high, instead of fly   Kidding ofcoarse, but, I'm kinda pissed off at Chris, & am glad the series is being rebooted.

Don't get me wrong, there are thing I like about it.  In general, atleast the first movie is well crafted, nothing like the 3rd & 4th Bats movies of the past.  But, as "Batman" movies, I don't know.  I'll probably like the 3rd one, so maybe me feeling will change, though, I still hate the ugly batmobile, & think "Catwoman" looks very plain & drab.  Sure, she's supposed to be realistic.....but, why is she wearing high heels if that's true?

Just gotta wait for more Avenger's related movies, so far, I've enjoyed all of them.  Probably Captain America the most(next to the actual Avenger's movie), & am looking most forward to CA 2 Thor 2, & especially Antman!  I hope Guardian's of the Galaxy is done right, they're really taking a chance with character's like Rocket Racoon, but, that's what I love about the concept.  We also need a Squirrel Girl movie   Oh, & I'm super excited that The Mandarin is FINALLY making an appearance in Iron Man 3, about damn time.  I don't even remember any references to him in the 2nd movie

Yeah, that's what I thought about the movie as well. 2nd-to-Last movie I saw at the theater before the new Batman. I would've preferred to see James Cameron back in the director's chair (he did Aliens 2 instead of Scott) to see what he could've done post his experience since Avatar.

Awesome, I wanted to post about this somewhere, but I have a small problem: I bought the Expendables 1 Blu-Ray and I still haven't seen it because I wanted to watch it at a neighbor/friend's place on his 50" HDTV. I definitely want my ticket sale to count for this, but I have to arrange with my friend like this week or whenever then go see the sequel at the theater. If not, just watch it finally on my 32" CRT SDTV. =\ But yeah, I've had the BluRay since the last Black Friday Thanksgiving sale and still haven't watched it cause of not arranging a time with him and what not - would've done so by now, but given time issues, busyness, and that we hang out less after another friend of ours died, too much procrastinating occurred, etc.

Anyhow, I think it's awesome Sly orchestrated these two movies and even helped out a straight-to-video failure like Jean-Claude Van Damme and others. Too bad his son died and just as this sequel was getting wrapped up.

They made the story less farfetched and made the setting much more cyberpunk than the original.
