I came across a inexpensive PC Engine Duo without power cord or anything else. I decided to see if I can get it up and running.

Ordered a controller, I found an AV cable and am using a 9v DC from Radio Shack that I have heard works fine.

Everything turns on, I get to the 'Press Run' Super CD screen, the disk spins but nothing loads. I've noticed there's also a slight 'pulse' every 4 seconds or so where the light on the system flashes and the screen dims for a moment.

Any ideas or should I just buy a complete one?

How many MA does the ac adapter output? A DUO needs around 1000MA to operate well.

And that answers that question. The one he sold me was only 300. well that's $20 down the proverbial drain. Any good places to order a cheap power adapter.

Thanks!... damn, they're sold out. So close to re-playing my favorite Super CD games, yet, so far away.

I hereby offer to sell one unreasonably.  In lieu of cash I desire a blood offering.  And some pie.  Wash your hands in between though please.

I actually don't have one for sale, and this one's pricey, but it's in stock:

LOL, damn, the bloodletting would have made for an interesting sale.

I'm willing to source an adapter for a smaller blood offering.  A mouse perhaps?  "A canary?", I query.
