12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

NES LongPlay | Guerrilla War | (001)

Guerilla War is better.   lol.

Ikari is such shiy
This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

I have a ginormous list of requests that I will get to eventually. I'm trying not to play all 'good' games as it's nice to look at the duffers as well.

Ikari:
"Feels like a homebrew version of the arcade game"... "The jerkiness of it all"...

Yep, that's Micronics' calling card right there.  Check out their patchy history right here:  http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index.php/Micronics

some of their games were decent!

Are they the Pack-In-Video of the NES world?

ccovell

More like the Tiertex of the Famicom world (since they're development subcontractors, not publishers.)

Psycho Punch

Micronics is like a reversed Ikegami Tsushinki.

PunkCryborg

Bad Dudes! such a classic

I just picked up Conquest at Crystal Palace. It's really awesome, add that to your list!

I just played through that last week. Wife went out, I grabbed a pint of Johnny black and dug in. A few spots are tough as nails and the last castle is a bitch.

Mathius

You gotta play to the end of the level, Sunteam! The speech at the level's end must be heard.

Nando

Will have to give Bad dudes a look. I've only played it in it's arcade form.

Keep up the great vids!

Arkhan Asylum

Where's that picture that's like

ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO NAIL YOUR DICK TO A 2X4

So I gave the video a look. What a disappointing port.  BAD, dudes. So bad.

Trojan is kinda shite, but I rather enjoy it from time to time, I rather. Rather. :3

"I look like a right gimp"

I loled and choked on potato chips.

EDIT: also, yeah, Skate or Die 2's adventure mode is a bit iffy if you're not aware of skater-lingo (ollie = jump), and if you don't grab the board upgrades from Lester.  lol

I spent HOURS playing SorD2 hallfpipe alone. That thing is excellent once you get a hang of the controls.
The story is not bad either, again, once you take a few to get acclimated.

I agree 100% with this. I bought this game from a local department store back when I was 10 (since it was only $20). The story mode controls kinda suck but the half pipe was fun as hell (despite the learning curve). I love the animation when you dropped head first on the small middle ramp and you split in half :)

HailingTheThings

I haven't played in quite some time, but definitely one of the best $5 NES purchases I've made.

Mathius

I was just playing this the other night. The 2nd overhead shooting level's tune gets stuck in my head all the time.

Hint: Use password "TGL" to play just the shooting levels.

roflmao

Hooray!  Guardian Legend is one of my favorite NES games. Glad it got a "mildly favorable" review. :)

Starship Hector is my favorite Hudson shooter, I think.

Wowzers, after watching this review-ish thing, I thought, "This game looks neat." Looked over my stack of NES games and I effing had it?! Yess!!! I don't play my NES that much anymore, gonna hafta do that err something soon. Yay!

The character looks funny.

Totes have this game. I actually like it even though its kinda meh. The wtf factor keeps me going whenever I play it, which is rare. Wish the JP prototype would get a release.

Legacy of the Wizard is great once you realize each character does one thing that the other gooners can't, so you have to figure out who can go where and grab what.

InfraMan

Crystalis is a pretty fun action RPG, although it can be a little hard to know where you're supposed to go sometimes. Not as good as StarTropics, but definitely worth playing through if you like the genre.

I've only ever seen this one available from repro sites... I think it was only officially released in Japan.

Glad to see that you're doing some obscure titles on your show TC, and not just the big name Zeldas and Marios and such. Good stuff! =D>

Yes it was a Japan only release. Apparently it's very expensive.

ccovell

Moon Crystal is a very good game, with good music, great graphics, and gameplay (as you discovered) like a cross between PoP and Ys III (later stages include a castle to explore, etc).  Better get used to the controls, as in later stages you'll have to jump on moving platforms, gears, etc, as I recall.
