I really didn't see anyone else talking about it so I thought I would drop a heads up. It seems that Namco Bandai or whatever they call themselves now intend to release Witch Witch, the first game in the Gagharv Trilogy, stateside. Whether it will have another shoddy translation or not is another story but its coming this summer according to this:

This is a pretty good indication that we will actually see the third game.... or rather it gives me hope that we will.

The second Falcom game that is coming (to the Japanese market this June) is Gurumin. Now this baby is being handled by Falcom themselves, they aren't handing it out to a third party this time. I think its the first time they have made/ported anything to another system since Ys 5 on the Super Famicom. With Falcom themselves doing the work it should be a quality port. Some people didn't really like it, but I enjoyed it a fair bit. Just thought I would let people know.

Oh here is the link for this:

Anyway I sure Falcom fans like me will enjoy the news though some of them probably already own the PC originals, which at least in the case of Witch Witch are better. Still the recognition of the games on the PSP could really help get us more Falcom stuff.

Hopefully Falcom will port something to the PS2 themselves instead of wasting more time on that shitty handheld.  I'd kill for another falcom game in english that I could play on a real system without getting carpal tunnel and waiting through infinite load screens.  They have so many kickass games like Xanadu Next and Oath in Felgana, I wish they'd put them out over here on the PS2.

The PSP isn't really that bad of a system for a handheld. It does have its problems like the crappy digital pad. The analog stick isn't great either. If sony wasn't so cheap I would say that they could fix all the tech problems with the PSP. It is starting to get some good titles though. However, I would have to agree that I would rather see them on a real console. It is just more enjoyable to play them that way.

On the subject of Oath in Felghana, there is a translation going on for the PC verison. So if a PS2 verison never comes it isn't a total loss. Xanadu Next and LoH 6 deserve a tranlation or console release though.

Xanadu Next got released on N-Gage (in English), but the PC version is so much better. In fact, it is the best game I have ever played.  :)
Quote from: Seldane on 04/21/2007, 07:28 PMDVDs are for suckers. Illegally pirated and stolen videos all the way. No menus. No "DO NOT PIRATE THIS!" screens. No fuss. Only perfection. I honestly only pirate movies because that "don't pirate this" screen annoys me.

Indeed, it's AV time. Check out: IMG! Sir, the door was open.

Yeah as a media player I thought the PSP was dope, movies off of memory cards and music worked awesome.  But as a game machine it just pissed me off more than anything with it's crappy d-pad, uncomfortable analog nub, and ridiculous load times.  Plus the ghosting in 3D games was pretty annoying too.

Xanadu Next does indeed rock, and I actually played the Ngage version too, haha.  I'd love to have a console version of that, hell I'd settle for a Japanese PS2 version of it just so I didn't have to sit in front of my computer to play it.

Seldane

I don't think we'll see a PS2 release, unfortunately. I bought an N-Gage solely because of Xanadu Next, by the way. It was worth it.

Too bad it broke down before I got to finish it. Damn Nokia.

Seriously? How did it break. I've never played an N-Gage (the demos were always turned "off" or broken, and the demos didn't stay in the stores for long). I've always been curious about it -- as a novelty item, really.

Software fault. The phone restarts itself at boot. Impossible to start it, in other words.

I've been meaning to let the store flash it, but I haven't yet (it has been eight months so far).

OK! I thought the pad / screen / buttons had been physcially damaged (i.e. you threw your N-Gage at the wall, only to discover you cracked the LCD screen).

Seldane

Well the LCD shield (not the actual screen) has got a small crack in the corner too. And the whole rubber strip that protects the phone is loose (apparently this is an extremely common problem).

The N-Gage (QD)'s buttons are extremely poor. Playing a game for over five minutes will make your fingers hurt. Seriously.  :!:

Supposedly, Falcom's porting Sora no Kiseki (LOH6) to the PSP after they're done with Gurumin.

Yeah I've heard that as well. Too bad Falcom themselves are doing the ports. That probably means they'll never see an English release.
