@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Ah, you posted it here too right after my Facebook thread! Heh, yeah, pretty much.

I wouldn't even cite this "black on black" crime notion personally. I'd rather emphasize those CDC stats you saw: that in 2012 twice as much white perps/suspects were shot dead by white cops than blacks, the idea being to try - in futility - to fight the news media's defamatory racism-everywhere narrative of our police forces being an army of racist KKKillers, etc.

A white guy shot dead by a white cop ? Meh, who cares. Black guy ? Well now, if it bleeds it leads, if it burns it earns! We can use that for mayhem!!

Well said.  Not to mention the crimes where black cops have shot unarmed whites dead.  In my eyes, white, black, yellow, brown, red it doesn't matter.  If you put yourself in a position to be shot by an officer of the law, chances are you were up to no good or at least were non-compliant with officer's commands.  I'm not defending either side but why does the news automatically paint the person who was shot out to be the victim.
"You CAN'T prove Nulltard/DoxPhile caused ANY harm/damage/sabotage to PCEFX!! You have NO evidence he poached ANY members for his own failed PC Engine forum/site or was a conniving destructive saboteur! ZERO, ZIP, NADA!!! Nulltard did nothing wrong!"

Quote from: BlueBMW on 03/27/2014, 11:01 PMTotally.  The super wealthy will perpetuate their extravagant lifestyle as long as possible.  The less fortunate will start to feel the impacts much earlier and much harder.  Kind of like this recent recession.  The people who suffered the most hardship were the poor and middle class.  The wealthier folks experienced a hiccup but recovered much faster than the rest of us.

The frustrating part is I just dont see a plausible solution to the problem   everything that would work requires significant lifestyle changes that most people, rich or poor, simply wont do until they are forced to.

You can look at the history of Argentina and Venezuela, up to current day Venezuela; to get an idea as to how some things will go down, economically at least.

The best term to describe it is, Catabolic collapse. The slow dying off, no bang, no big rapture, no technological singularity; just the standard downwards collapse of yet another great civilization in the history of our species. A few million years from now, it will be the turn of the decedents of Raccoons and Ravens. We'll be the dinosaurs they dig up ;)
I'm so confused.  Does this mean I will or will not eventually be able to afford Magical Chase?

Well, youre in Canada so you might have a shot once all the dust settles here in the states.

What a great game

I love point-and-click adventures! I grew up playing Sierra games, later discovered and fell in love with LucasArts, and I even dabble in text adventures a bit. I actually wrote an article on Zork for Hardcore Gaming 101, but so far, it has only been printed in their book on Graphic Adventures.

I'm very pleased that the genre has made a bit of a comeback. I love solving those pseudo-logic puzzles. I remember playing AGD Interactive's full remake of King's Quest II and feeling so OG when I figured out how to kill the werewolf pack leader without help.

...But I digress and derail this thread. Point-and-click adventure games should have their own thread. :)

Speaking of Kings Quest, there's a new one coming out!

We'll see if it lives up to the Roberta Willams classics.

To this day I've not played it with a sound card, but even with just a pc speaker, i enjoyed the hell out of playing this one on my Wang 386.  I've heard that the music is amazing, and I always liked that it didn't hold your hand and allowed you to die.

I also enjoyed the hell out of a major PC manufacturer being named Wang.  Those were the days.
Wang had many factories in the Northeast US when I was growing up.
They still have a performing arts center named after them in Massachusetts.  But alas, that is all that remains of the Wang legacy.

My 386 IBM Compatible was loaded with Sierra games.  I never played The Dig and other than Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island, I haven't played too many Lucas Arts games.  I need to get on that.    Grim Fandango was great IMHO and I even beat the Duck Man Point and Click.
