Troubleshooting Turbo Duo

I just got a turbo duo off of ebay and it seems to be in good shape, the hu card works, but when I try to play a CD it keeps telling me to Please Close the CD lid. I have tried pushing down on the buttons in the cd thing but it doesn't seem to work. Do you guys have any ideas what is wrong?

It sounds to me like the internal sensor that senses if the lid is closed or not isn't working properly.  It may be obvious what you need to fix if you open it up, depending how comfortable you are with working on electronics.

Thanks for the info, I am afraid though I am not good with electronics so I would probably make it worse. Anyway, the vendor was willing to refund me so that's what I am doing.
