2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

My musical tastes are too huge to go into in great detail. If it isn't pop country or mainstream hiphop/R&B then I probably have a shitload of it.

Lately I've been really into progressive rock, which is something I always liked but never got crazy into. For the past couple of years though I've been super into Genesis and Yes, mostly.

Twice a month I'm on a dance music show on WCBN FM in Ann Arbor called Crush Collision which has been going for...longer than anyone can remember, maybe 20+ years? Rather than just play cookie cutter house or whatever, which is fine, I very much enjoy house, I'm usually pretty aggressive about cramming as much stuff in there as possible to make a good set. A while back I made a good one that had Michael Jackson, George Carlin, The KLF, Erasure, Lyrics Born, Royksopp, Bedrock, Pet Shop Boys, live synthesizer and more.

I also love Iron Maiden, Iron and Wine, Chet Baker, Doomtree, Francis and the Lights, Negativeland, Chumbawamba, and a bunch of other stuff. I just love music period.

If anyone is interested in hearing my...challenging...synthesizer pieces you can reach my Soundcloud at soundcloud.com/signofzeta

Bernie

Grew up on GunsN'Roses, my all time favorite band.  Too bad what it has become is nothing like what it started as.  Appetite for Destruction, and the Use Your Illusions albums were genius.  I like a lot of music, Country, some R&B, Grunge Rock, ect..but GunsN'Roses is always my fall back to band.  Just wish Axl hadn't let his ego go to his damn head.... Best part of the band is gone, SLASH.  Without him, Axl is just Axl..not GN'R.

Quote from: esteban on 02/15/2015, 07:24 AMI prefer heavier, brooding pieces in general, so I'll take a Passion over a William Tell 99 times out of 100.
I agree.  I also like more uptempo classical.  For brooding pieces I have to say this is my favorite version of Danse Macabre.  Conducted by Arthur Fiedler and performed by the Boston Pops.
For upbeat I love the Hoe-down segment from "Rodeo"  by Aaron Copland.  It has to be one of the most fun songs to play on the violin.  I still play it from time to time on my violin.  I also have a soft spot for western themed classical pieces.

The past 18 years of Dimmu Borgir makes me sad.  Enthrone Darkness Triumphant was the last good album.  When Tjoldav left on drums I sort of lost interest.

Galder

I agree, but for me it has been always Old Man's Child > Dimmu Borgir anyway. Galder is exceptional. He is a -unique- band of his own.
