Localization Legend "Supper the Subtitler" has "joined the club" in being targeted for CD-pressings by bootleg master Tobias/PCEWorks! His projects like Private Eyedol, Galaxy Fräulein Yuna 1 & 2, etc. are now being sold on Chinese factory-pressed CDROMs...

so...what do you need to play the US version of this? I have a turbo CD setup and an everdrive but I cna't for the life of me determine what/if I can actually play the CD with what I have.

Do I need to get a System Card 3 or can you do it with the everrdrive some how?

CrackTiger

You need a System Card 3.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

Yep. ^ What he said...

Dungeon Explorer II is a SuperCD game, so it needs additional RAM to run. Everdrive can only simulate the ROM of a HuCard, it has no RAM. So you need a Super System Card (System Card 3.0) or better. A Japanese Arcade Card would also work... But you would need a modded console or a pincoverter to run a Japanese HuCard.

Would specifically need to be an Arcade Card Pro rather than the the Arcade Card Duo.

Cheapest way to get a system 3.0 card is to get a pce version (or a arcade card pro) as cd games aren't region protected and get your turbo modded or talk to chop to get a chopsado. By the time you buy a U.S system card 3.0 you would be halfway there getting a Duo anyway..

Yeah, actually... I haven't seen a US super system card for sale on eBay in a long, long time... I wish I could get my hands on one. I use Arcade Card Pro + Kisado Connector, myself.

If it's any consolation... You can simulate the original CDROM2 system card (1.0 JP or 2.0 US) with the EverDrive and play older games like Cosmic Fantasy 2 or Ys I&2 + 3. The original system cards contained no RAM... just a ROM BIOS (the dock has a whopping 64KB RAM built in).

Titles to complete... Caught them all....

ddoubledee

Haha, yeah... It's only worth about $80 retail, if I recall correctly. ;)

How manageable is this game in Japanese for non-Japanese speakers?

ddoubledee

Probably only manageable with a walkthrough... people do tell you which paths to take and where you should go next.

It's quite playable even without a walkthrough..

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay.... If it's $5 to some then others might see it as $200. Not worth what this guy wants though.

I kind of got that vibe from the first DE, but I only have the JP version of the second. Good to know I don't need to switch it out/burn a copy (especially since my Duo is finnicky).
