Anyone gonna drop $500 on this piece of shit?

For $500 couldn't I just use all original parts, mod it, and end up with the same product. In fact, wouldn't I save money that way?

Nope, rather use the $500 to get a Neo Geo AES or a decent laptop.

Hehe, I bet we will see more and more "new" retro consoles. "New" neo geo, "new" jaguar with cd, "new" dreamcast, "new" 3ds... Wait... Don't we already have that from nintendo itself? ;p
