I always remember being very impressed by the TG16 commercials back when they started test marketing it in NY and other places when I was a kid but I never had money to get one. It's funny how back then I used to have this feeling about how I would never own things that I couldn't afford (or wasn't allowed to buy, but this wasn't one of those things...) because I figured by the time I could buy one they would more or less no longer exist. I was proven wrong about this years later in the mid to late 90s when I found a whole shelf of the consoles in Toys 'R Us for like $40 each and then a bunch of marked down games. Once I got the system home, even after all those years since seeing it advertised, it didn't disappoint and has remained one of my favorite consoles of all time. I definitely played a lot more NES and Genesis, mainly because I didn't have a lot of games for TG16 since almost no stores sold them and all the games disappeared from Toys 'R Us shortly after I bought my system, but I really thought this one was something special. Only one person I knew had one of these and I was lucky enough to talk them into selling me Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge, and Splatterhouse, so I pretty much always had the games I wanted most for this thing.
Every so often I feel like playing video games again and this time around I went with the TG16. Wound up buying this RCA adapter that plugs into the CD-ROM attachment port (not the Booster, a home made item from ebay that cost a lot less; works great!) and now I feel like my system has new life breathed into it. Also bought a Core Grafx with a region switch mod so I could play my Japanese New Adventure Island game (buying the Core Grafx and the Japanese card was cheaper than the only US version I could find...) and it showed up the same day as the AV adapter but the power supply made popping noises and smelled like burnt plastic when I plugged it in so now I have to wait for another to show up and hope that the adapter didn't kill the system when it malfunctioned.
Anyway, that is my long winded intro/hello and I really wonder if I'll have much more to say about this system despite how much I enjoy it but I wanted to join anyway since I'd heard good things about the site.

Join any conversation. Even if it is just to say: I did/didn't like this game, this part of the game, the music, the box art, etc.

Of to ask questions.

Talk.
Play.
Obey.

I've actually been checking out a lot of stuff like that lately, including those sites which I enjoyed. Pretty nice collection there! It may have been linked from either site but I didn't see it so I figured I'd mention the 2 promo videos that are up on Youtube (1, 2) even though I'd imagine you have already seen them. Watched the one with the 2 kids twice in the last few days. lol
