12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

If you could have any one hard to obtain TG/PCE game, which would you choose?

Send me the game!

It is a unique little gem.  A flawed gem, but a gem.
I'd love to but I don't fancy mailing my psp

I already have my "grail game," Rondo of Blood. What's more, bought at a great price of $80... from Nintendo Age, of all places.

This isn't really rare or expensive, but I would like a CIC copy of Shinobi for under $40. Does that count?

Of course, anything counts.  But especially if there is some difficulty (or impossibility) in obtaining it.  Shinobi is as noble a goal as any!

I base all my opinions on screenshots and youtube videos.  Why would I bother playing anything?

That's the spirit!  A little sip of hatorade tastes good now and then, doesn't it?

Quote from: WoodyXP on 09/07/2015, 01:23 AMFor me it would have to be "Beyond Shadowgate".  I already have all the other expensive and hard to find games.  Shadowgate turns me off and I've never felt compelled to buy it.  I've already played it on emulator and it sucks balls, IMO.  But for the sake of this thread, that is the game I'd go for.
Quote from: wildfruit on 09/07/2015, 07:00 AMBeyond shadowgate is without doubt my least favourite point and click adventure. If it was any good it might be worth the money but it's pretty horrid to play imo. Looks nice though I'll give it that.
I've never seen two statements in the same thread more wrong than that of these.. You guys should be ashamed.  If you don't like point n' click adventure games, then fine..I get it.  But the ambiance, music, puzzles, grafx and the continued story of the classic Shadowgate are well above an excellent gaming experience.  I have Beyond Shadowgate in my top 5 OBEY gems, and would debate anyone on it's awesomeness!
Jossshhhhh...Legendary TurboTrollX-16: He revenge-bans PCE Developers/Ys IV Localizers from PCE Facebook groups and destroyed 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Josh and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner (extortion/blackmail!), never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

Point and click is my favourite genre, well maybe joint with arpg. I just don't get the love for this particular one. Maybe its more to do with I wasn't doing very well with it and kept dying. Maybe it would be better if I played on PCE rather than psp? I don't know, for me it doesn't hold a candle to the likes of MI2 or Sam & max.

I get that.  I think all of the ways to die are part of the charm.  Also, I really dig the combination of "Mouse style cursor" and gamepad controls to dodge dangerous enemies.  It's like a point n' click/beat 'em up all rolled into one.  The first time I played this was in 1994 and I had finally gotten through the original NES version so I was riding all sorts of emotions while playing through it.  I think anyone that plays through it from beginning to end, regardless of emu vs. actual hardware would enjoy it.  Just give it another chance.

From what I can tell, Beyond Shadowgate plays like King's Quest, and that's alright with me.
