Hi, first post here! I registered here in hopes that you skilled people might have a solution for a little problem that I'm having.

You see I recently purchased a Duo-RX system with an intend to mod it for RGB output,
to do this I purchased an RGB kit from otakustore, which came complete with an RGB Scart cable.
(I am euro btw, so i use RGB capable tv's/monitors)

However, after modding the colors seem.. off? somehow?

To compare I made photographs with my tablet of the PCE running 3 games.
I then hooked up my unmodified PAL Turbografx16 via composite to the same monitor.
and then 3 more of the same games with the PAL console. (using Krikzz' Everdrive)

As you can see the colors are off by a little? it almost looks okay aside from that.

I used the otakustore guide, so 4 wires have been soldered to the chip, R/G/B and Sync.

I also did the anti rainbow mod.

One strange thing, my RGB kit came with 4 loose capacitors instead of the three that are shown on the site when you choose Duo-R.
I send them a message a week ago but haven't heard back yet as to why there would be a 4th cap.

Is this the case? did I forget to cap something?

I hope this all makes sense.  #-o

looks like your red might be a bit weak on the RGB mod
could even be settings on the monitor

Then why does it look okay when I use the TGFX16 on the same monitor?

I also tried it on a PVM (tiny one) and it still has the wrong colors, so its definitely the PCE or cable.

You don't understand .   Thesteve is trying to tell you the red on RGB mod board looks weak.  I'm not familiar with the otaku board, but if it has potentiometers, they might need to be adjusted to dial in the colors

thesteve

had a bad cap in a ps2 scart cable last month cause some odd green effects

UltraVamp

Gonna take a look tomorrow at the cable and see if its properly wired,
if that's not it then I'll add some potentiometers and try adjusting those.

Thanks for the replies guys! and if others have more ideas as to what it could be please let me know.
The more stuff to check the closer I'll get to getting this solved.

So I added 3 variable resistors to the RGB lines and upped the red a little bit, looks much better now.
I kept them there in case I ever feel like fiddling with it some more, but it looks pretty damn good now.

Appreciate the help you guys gave me!
