This goes well with a game of Lords of Thunder

It feels like an outback from the movie "the shinning".

From what I recall it just was less carbonated and had no caffiene but otherwise tasted just like Pepsi

No carbonation might be tough, but the look of that cool Pepsi in my hands will have everyone wanting to be my friend

I don't have fond memories of Crystal Pepsi, but the gravy wasn't bad.

Haha. Good stuff.

I plan on trying the crystal pepsi. Although, I was under the impression it was just regular pepsi without the caramel color added.

I haven't had it since it came out, but I remember it tasting basically like, but not exactly like, regular Pepsi.

roflmao

I have no desire to try Crystal Pepsi, and the video didn't help sway me, but it led to a Pepsi video where Jeff Gordon goes incognito to a car dealership and takes a car for a test drive. That was a hoot, as was the follow-up video.

Still doesn't make me want to drink Pepsi, though. :P

Warbucks

Awesome video, brings me right back.

ccovell

That video was dumb, and, oh no, the nostalgia train is trundling on to the mid-to-late-90s already?

geise

Didn't want it then, don't want it now.

wilykat

There were 2 different versions of Crystal Pepsi.  The original one was clear cola and was kind of like cola.  The later version reissued in mid 90s were the citrus flavored, like Sprite or 7up.

cr8zykuban0

i never had crystal pepsi so this makes me want to go out and try it for the curiosity

HailingTheThings

OMG CRYSTAL PEPSI JO SAUCE!!!!

I remember buying this shit a few times from a local party store BITD along with all kinds of candy goodies, including major league chew and laffy taffy.

They had a crystal Pepsi machine in my highschool. It was always sold out. I really didn't care for it.

That's awesome. I'm kinda hoping this little marketing stunt kick starts a full return of crystal pepsi, even if its a very limited run. This initial 13,000 crap is dumb.

Pepsi wants some of that limited edition soda monies that Surge tapped into.

The only problem with that is, Surge was remembered fondly before it came back out. People were asking to bring it back years before it was finally re-released. Crystal Pepsi was only looked back upon as a market failure that no one was upset about when it left.

mickcris

They have a million different flavors these days anyways.  Back then, the only had a few.  Probably not a big deal to bring it back.  Wonder if it will taste the same. Not really sure if back then they used high fructose corn syrup.   I dont really remember what it tasted like though.

The only reason it kind of gained recent popularity was people drinking 20 year bottles of it on youtube.  For those that dont know, for some reason LA Beast decided to start a campaign to bring it back which surprisingly worked.

Doesn't matter.  People will buy it just to try it, so they'll have no troubles selling a relatively short, small run.

Meh, let me know when they bring back OK Soda.

geise

Speaking of clear flavored drinks, you older guys remember New York Seltzer?

It was only available in Florida, I believe.

And no, I never tried it.

Because New Jersey.

i was a "tester" for OK.  no lie.  got tons of it free to pass around high school and get feedback before it launched.

wildfruit

I've  never tried it. I had tab clear once out of a swimming pool vending machine for 30p. Didn't like it.

HailingTheThings

I liked Tab because: (1) my favorite aunt drank it when we would hang out, (2) pink is awesome and a favorite color

Now, I don't know if the formula changed since the 80's, but I wonder if I would still like it (I greatly prefer Diet Coke over Diet Pepsi).

I buy Tab from time to time.. I think its somewhere in between Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke, not as crisp as Diet Coke but not as bad after taste as Diet Pepsi.

I also prefer Diet Coke over Diet Pepsi.

TDIRunner

I can't give you a tab unless you order something.  :P
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I'll have a crate of fries and an ice-cold Tab.

Thank you.

Oh, and a quiche to go.
