What I found most surprising (and a bit disappointing) was the launch date.  Two days after the PS3?  I thought I would be playing with the Wii in October

Wow... I didn't even know  the launch date for the PS3...  Shows my enthusiasm for it.  (And I had preordered a PS2 on launch too.)

Anyway, yeah... I wouldn't have minded getting a Wii sooner myself.  (The the PS3 launching everywhere on the same date?  If so, then the Wii will get released a while after the PS3 in Japan.  Granted, with the small amount of PS3's that will be available, it might make as much of a dent on Wii sales. )

Edit: Nintendo.ca posted a message saying that the Canadian price for the Wii is 279.95$(CDN).  (It's the same package as the US).  Not too bad, I was expecting it to be 299.99$.  Hopefully, that means that the software and accessories will be a bit lower then I was expecting (i.e. 54.99$ for games).
