I recently got back into my TurboGrafx, and am trying to fill in my collection with some games I had missed during my 20+ year hiatus. One game in particular that looks very appealing is Coryoon. I enjoy Air Zonk, and I like cutesy shooters, so this seems like a good fit.

I am willing to pay a good price for it, but the current prices on eBay seem a little over the top. $500 for a complete copy is a little much to me, but I would be comfortable in the $200-$300+ range. If someone has a copy to sell, please let me know, and we can see if we can work something out.

Thank you.

EDIT: Priorities have changed: no longer in the market for this.

Just to make sure, Coryoon is a PC Engine game so if you've only got a US system that might be a problem.  Nothing worse than spending a few hundo on a game only to find it not working in your system.

BTW Coryoon is excellent, though for its price I'd probably just pick up an everdrive instead lol.

I probably should have made that clear in my initial post. I did have my TurboDuo recently modded to recap it, install component video output, and add a region switch, so I should be good to go. I also have a SuperGrafx in case that doesn't work  :)

As for getting an Everdrive, I feel like I'm close enough to getting everything I want in my physical collection that I'd like to stick to that. There is just something about having physical copies that I like. I have around 800 video game music CDs in my house, and I pull one of two of them out daily to listen to them.

You still need an everdrive.  How else are ya gonna play translated roms and sweet homebrews?

The price on Coryoon seems to have gone crazy recently.
I saw one ebay auction the other day that sold for £375 ($458)
Then I checked other completed listings and saw that other previously sold copies had sold for even more!
Feels really recently that it used to sell for £50 on eBay, but I guess thinking about it that was years back.

Coryoon is crazy expensive, One option you should consider is try buying direct from Japan Auction scene, using sites like easyauctionjapan, shoppingmalljapan, etc.

This might give you a slight price benefit but still savage none the less.

Till you get rapped on double shipping costs and fees only to realize it's not really any cheaper than ebay now a days.

Buy one of the repros

fyi i also want an original

I wish I had kept up with the TG16 scene: it seems like prices have gone crazy the last couple years. I remember getting some of the nicer US titles 15 years ago for mere fractions of what they go for now. I think the US collectors are driving some of the price inflation in Japan as well, as YJA is much more easily accessible than it had been just a few years ago. I do wonder if the bubble is going to burst on some of these games...

In my case, my daughter's school was doing some fundraising for new playground equipment, and I think the money I would have spent on this could be better served going towards that. I don't have any repros, but this is a case where they make a lot of financial sense. $400+ for an original or $50 repro + $250 to charity + $100 left over...

You have made an excellent choice.  Personally, I've owned lots of rare games, had a near full set of US TG games and you know what?  Its fun when you first get something, but after a bit the novelty wears off and it just sits on a shelf.  Your money is gone, the novelty is gone, and whatever you got turns into shelf candy.  The only way to get more enjoyment out of it is to either play it (which many simply do not) or to take pictures of it and show it off on Facebook/Forum/whatever.  That's kind of what this hobby has become.  People spend huge amounts of money for basically some perceived recognition.  Its like that scene from Jurassic Park.  "See? No one cares!"

Recognizing and valuing the other important things in life and keeping a balance is key.

Huh? What repros?
Don't wanna buy one as I have the game already, but I didn't know there were "Coryoon" repros floating around? I only know of "Sapphire".

P.S.: Great choice on the playground stuff. Game sure is awesome but....you know, priorities. :)

For retro games I'm happy with emulation now.
I think if you play with the emulator settings and add scanlines I honestly think emulation looks amazing on a modern LCD/LED TV.

these days I'll very rarely pick up the odd retro game, for the most part I'm done with owning original games. Unless there's some colossal price crash I won't ever get back in to it.
