Hey everyone. I Finally got in my Turbo lot from the eBay deal I made almost a month ago. The Seller took forever to ship it out. Everything works, but it needs a really good cleaning and refurbish job, which I'm doing myself. Plus I'm going to attempt to create my own AV cable out of some D Sub Pin Connectors and a standard AV cable. I had spoken to quite a few people during the time I purchased this lot and I definitely agree that the TED is the way to go. I was just wondering, where would be the best place to buy it from in everyone's opinions?
.         I'm looking at Quality and Price. I don't want to save a little money and buy something cheap. After doing a quick search, I found one by Stone Age Gamer. Any thoughts on that one? It looks very well made and has a great presentation. The price isn't bad at all either. Also, what storage size SD card should I get? I know these games don't have alot of size to them, but would 4GB be enough? Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I think that the TED is going to be the best place to start before buying individual games.

I have and would recommend buying straight from krikkz (the guy making the everdrive): http://krikzz.com/store/

4GB will be plenty of space for a PCE/TG-16/SGX game library

I'd buy straight from krikzz, as I don't need a cover (it wouldn't fit in the LA with one) nor a silly case.  As for the SD card, 4gb is plenty; mine has a complete set of JP and US roms and a bunch of homebrew and translated roms, and it's less than 1gb.

Thanks NecroPhile. That's kinda what I thought. 4GB seemed like plenty. Does Krikzz have a site or can I buy it from the Forums maybe?

Thanks for the link Srhcman, ill check that out right away. I'm so excited to dig into the Turbo/PCE library!

krikzz offers a cover for the circuitry now (only a $7.00 add on)

You are welcome, enjoy it! :)

CrackTiger

Stone Age Gamer is a rip off, don't bother if price is a concern. They also ruin many flashcarts with very tacky custom packaging, but charge you a premium for the service.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

If you go with just the bare unit (heh), Stone Age Gamer is actually slightly cheaper at $78.99 + $5.73 shipping instead of $79.00 + $6.00 shipping from krikzz.  I'd still buy from him, though, as there's a better chance that I'd get the most up to date revision and no middle man if something goes wrong and I need support.

Only advantage of getting through a dealer would be time/distance (Ohio vs Ukraine). But overall it is best to just get it from the source, the guy stands by his product.  You could even organize a group purchase and get a discount.

he will fully support it if you buy it from an authorized dealer.  so no issue there.  So stoneage gamer would be better if you dont need a cover as its cheaper and it wont take a month to get it.

they appear to have the newest rev also (2.5)

Excellent suggestions everyone. That's actually my dilemma, whether to buy it from Krikzz or SAG. I love buying things direct from people, just to support them, but I also don't want to wait a month as I already waited almost a month for the Lot itself, which blew. I'm trying to make this decision by the end if the week since I have the cash to afford it now. Luckily this lot came with a few of the games I really wanted!

Yeah, I don't think krikzz takes Paypal anymore so you need to use a Visa/MC to buy, where as SAG I think takes other forms of payment.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate all the feedback on this. I think I'm going to go with SaG just so I don't have to wait forever or be limited to only one form of payment. I really do like the Deluxe version of it also. I'm such a stickler for shit like that, Plus I want something to store it in. But, it's $79 vs $125. So yeah, $45 for packaging essentially, is a big decision for me.
.                                                                      A question though: Are the Roms fairly simple to add, sort and access? What is everyone's opinion on the best place to get Roms from? I've pulled Roms for my Retron 5 from Freeroms, and they're almost always perfect.

mickcris

just a reminder that asking that question is against the rules.

If you actually have a TG16, just a small bit of warning, I'm having problems getting my TED to work with it. I've posted here about it as well as on the Everdrive forums, so have a read:

It does work great on my Turbo Express and I'll soon know if it works on my Duo when it comes in.

I bought it from Krikzz, in the official online store for for Russian-speaking countries. For a long time I could not find a compatible memory card until I bought SanDisk.
