No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! Scanlines and jpeg heavily distort pixelart. The latest reveal has 536 colors for example. If this was a large section of artwork from an obscure screen that most wouldn't recognize, then a photo of a screen wouldn't be too far off topic. When you distort a pixelart swatch consisting of just a few pixels, it makes it indistinguishable from many games which would end up like that after being filtered. It ends up becoming a different type of game. More like those movie theatre 'guess the actor' quizzes.
